But I can tell you what's happening for me and it may avoid you wasting time trying things that aren't going iphone 4 restore error 11 to work. I've been an Mac evangelist since '86. I started out with the first of the SE range and have extravagantly spent my way through just about every product ever designed out of Cupertino. So not surprisingly, among all our other current Apple equipment is an as-new condition 16GB 3G iPhone. Bought 100% legitimately here in NZ from Vodafone for use in New Zealand and, until attempting the 3.1 firmware upgrade, working perfectly. Thanks to the 3.1 upgrade, it's now a brick, stuck in "recovery mode".Apple Support Centre staff (and when you live in NZ, you have to phone Australia) have been polite but of no help. They kid me that they don't even know there's a problem (maybe they don't read Apple's Support Forums).Technical advisory docs TS1275, HT1808, HT1224 and HT1766 have all been thoroughly tried. The restore-from-recovery-mode has been attempted 5 times from 3 different computers (two iMacs and one Windows). So earlier this week the iPhone was sent for "repair" to Apple's NZ repair agent MobilefoneRepair.com in Auckland (at the other end of this country), who have confirmed what we already knew. That is, that the phone cannot be repaired. What a surprise. But unfortunately, because it's just 66 days out of warranty, we're having to wait forever for someone deep in the bowels of Apple to make a decision about what should be don

Hello. I bought an iPhone 4 online that said that it was stuck in error 21 and would not restore. After doing much research and trying different solutions, I am now getting error 2001 and error 2006 when attempting to restore to iOS 6.1.3 with iTunes. When attempting the restore, the "connect to iTunes screen" on the iPhone https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/136930/How+to+fix+Error+2001,+2006+restore+issues,+possibly+battery goes blank flashes quickly to a blue screen, and then to the apple logo, and then back to the connect to iTunes logo and either error 2001 or 2006 appears. (same thing when i tried a custom restore) I have the latest version of iTunes, am using a macbook pro mid 2012, am using an apple usb cord, and do not have any other things connected to my laptop. There is no battery icon that appears when the iphone is connected in iTunes, and the iPhone only is on when connected to the macbook. Will replacing the battery be the solution to having a working iPhone? (there is no warranty with apple) or have i bought a phone that cannot be repaired? also the top water sensor indicates that there was water damage Answered! I plugged it into my laptop a few days later and it seemed to work, so I continued to use my phone as I normally would but after about a day it started overheating and suddenly stopped working. I took it apart, fully, and dried it the iphone 4 restore best I could as I could still see some condensation, but couldn't get my hands on any rubbing alcohol so I just dried it with a flannel being careful not to break anything. I left it another week in rice with the back cover and battery taken out, plugged it into my laptop and I got the following errors: 2006, 2005 and 2001. I also tried to replace the battery as I had read online that it had worked for other people but I still got the same error when trying to restore my phone from iTunes. When I plug in my phone it shows the apple logo and then a plug with an arrow pointing to the iTunes logo. When I unplug it it doesn't seem to work. I have also taken it apart and lost a few screws so I don't think I'd be able to take it into a shop and try and get it fixed, and it is out of warranty. I showed it to my brother and he thinks it might be one of the pins where you connect the phone to a charger is broken which results in the iPhone not being able to charge, but I was able to charge it before it was submerged in water. Any adv
