This discussion is locked omarxcs Level 1 (11 points) Q: Cannot Restore Unknown error 2001 iTunes says it cannot restore my iTunes and has an iphone restore error 2006 Unknown Error 2001. It all started after it failed the new update. Any ideas?

to omarxcs I had this exact problem. Manually restarting the phone a few times and it finally restored. I also made sure I had the newest version of iTunes and Quicktime and that I restarted my iMac. I restarted the iPhone once and had the error (restarted Mac also)... Then I started to freak out. However, I force restarted the iPhone 3 more times, and the Mac 1 more time and it was able to Restore from backup... However, even though I told it to keep it named Omar's iPhone, it named the phone as: "iPhone".Can I rename w/o restoring? Sounds weird but the only think you have to do is plug and unplug your iPod 3 0r 4 times.I can assure you that after 4 or 5 tries everything will be ok.Why is happening that?Think Apple sold so many iPod (4,000,000) and we are trying to get it at the same time, so they cant handle to manage all of them. Maybe there is not as much slot as they need for everyone to do

The phone Is turning on and asks to select a language and then a country. Then it has a pic of male connecter and itunes telling it to connect to itunes. One other thing.
