Itunes Restore Error 3194 & 2005 0 Howdy everyone, I've got a serious problem downgrade ipod touch 5g with my Ipad 1. 1) It's stuck at the apple logo upon restart. (This was the main problem) 2) Tried restoring from Itunes and was confronted with Error https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F_s3n-LHZ4 3194 (irrespective whether I tried to restore to stock firmware or jailbroken firmwares) 3) Searched the net and saw most sites recommend removing gs.apple.com from the Hosts file. (I have never edited my hosts file and double checking it confirmed that I have no entry for gs.apple.com) 4) I have also tried using TU, but when I tried http://www.jailbreakqa.com/questions/100443/itunes-restore-error-3194-2005 restoring from itunes with TSS Server running I got error 2005 instead. Can someone help me to restore my ipad?? I'm at wits end trying to resolve this problem. Thanks error2005 ios5.0.1 ipad error3194 asked 16 Apr '12, 00:21 Achilles72 41●1●1●3 To explain further attempts made trying to restore this Ipad: 5) Tried to restore and upgrade to 5.1 from itunes itself and got error 2005. (not manually download the ipsw) (16 Apr '12, 00:31) Achilles72 Latest attempt: 6) Tried using redsn0w_win_0.9.9b7, redsn0w_win_0.9.10b1, redsn0w_win_0.9.10b2 - Doesn't get very far. Seemed to be stuck at uploading stage 1. 7) Tried using redsn0w_win_0.9.10b5c with IOS 5.0.1. Redsn0w can upload all the 2 stages but stuck at waiting for device to start. On my Ipad, it remained blank as if its still on DFU mode which it is not. (16 Apr '12, 03:16) Achilles72 Right! I'm not quite sure what I did but I seemed to have gotten rid of error 3194 and 2005 during my attempt to restore my Ipad 1. Unfortunatelyon Feb 17, 2015 | Comments (7) If you're getting Error 3194 when you try to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch then here's how to resolve the error. This http://www.iphonehacks.com/2015/02/how-to-fix-error-3194-itunes-restore-update-iphone-ipad.html guide could also be useful to fix the following errors in addition to Error 3194: http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/error-2005-when-downgrading-from-ios-5-any-solutions.1255027/ Error 17 Error 1639 Errors 3000-3020 Errors 3100-3999 This device isn't eligible for the requested build Check your hosts file The problem seems to occur because iTunes cannot communicate with Apple's update servers. You need to check your hosts file, and there is no entry for "gs.apple.com". Mac Quit iTunes Launch Terminal Enter the following command and press Enter/Return. sudo ipod touch nano /private/etc/hosts Enter the password you use to sign in to your computer when prompted, and press Enter/Return. Terminal will display the hosts file as seen below. If you see any entries for "gs.apple.com" then you need to either remove or comment the entry. Navigate to the "gs.apple.com" entry using the arrow keys, and add the # symbol and a space at the beginning of the "gs.apple.com" entry. Press Control-O to save the file. Press the Enter key downgrade ipod touch when asked for the filename and Control-X to exit the editor. Restart your computer. Windows Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Search, type run, and then tap the Run icon. Or, if you are using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Search, type run, and then click the Run icon. Type %WinDir%\System32\Drivers\Etc in the Open box, and then tap or click OK. It should open the Etc folder. Double click on the Hosts file to edit it. If you see any entries for "gs.apple.com" then remove it and save the Hosts file. That's it, now try to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch again, and you should ideally not get the Error 3194 error again. You hit the error because you may have used a jailbreaking tool like Redsn0w at some point of time, which added the entry to the Hosts file so that iTunes could connect to Cydia servers instead of Apple update servers. Temporarily Disable Firewall or Security Software If you don't have an entry in the host file for "gs.apple.com" and still getting Error 3194, then temporarily disable the firewall or anti-virus software on your computer, as it is quite possible that they're preventing iTunes from connecting to Apple servers. Check firmware file You may also get the "This d
