This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2771".Now as I said, windows live messenger is working fine (it signs in when even though the installer failed) so I'm not overly phased by this, but does anyone know what the purpose of this installer is? Can you try to download, reinstall Live Messenger, and repost your result here? http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2673334&SiteID=17 Regards, Thomas Wednesday, May 07, 2008 6:47 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I followed 127's advice and it fixed the problem. 127 wrote: Hi, same happens after installing XP SP3 RTM ! when Windows Live v8.5.1302.1018 was already installed before.
