Na-publish noong Ene 20, 2013If your Android phone gives you a message saying "Low On Space - Phone storage space is getting full" you can fix it by moving your apps from the phone's internal memory to the SD card. I demonstrate this using my Android 2.2 phone. You can also delete some pictures or delete all of your text messages to free up space, but moving the apps is a good solution because you fix the Low On Space problem and don't have to delete anything. The problem was apparently a bug during the upgrade to Gingerbread, and following the steps in the accepted answer to get the hotfix resolved the issue for several months. However, recently I've been getting that same message again. Even though it complains about low internal storage, low disk space clicking on the warning brings me to a screen that shows me: Internal storage: 348MB used, 400MB free I'm using a Verizon HTC Incredible running Gingerbread. I have followed the steps in the other question (clearing system cache) and rebooted the phone several times. I have moved many apps to the SD card which seems to resolve the issue for a few days, but then the warning comes back. It seems like 47% full should not be triggering a low space warning (which has other ramifications, like my email not refreshing). Any ideas what's wrong this time? notifications internal-storage htc-droid-incredible insufficient-memory share|improve this question edited Mar 24 '13 at 12:00 Izzy♦ 63.1k30158450 asked Apr 2 '12 at 19:25 jrdioko 2652418 3 This error could be from your /cache, /data, or /datadata partitions being almost full. Even though you have 400MB free total, these locations do not have access to all that space. YOu can try moving some of the larger apps to the SDCard, but if it is /cache or /datadata the only solution would be to remove some of the apps or deleting their data. –Ryan Conrad Apr 2 '12 at 20:01 2 @RyanConrad: Is there any way to figure out the used/available space on each of those partitions without being rooted? –jrdioko Apr 2 '12 at 20:45 1 @jrdioko - I don't believe I've ever run against that particular error - when mine h
Starter Joined: Apr 13, 2011 Messages: 74 Likes Received: 1 After upgrading my Samsung S2 to Jellybean, I have, in my notifications, a "Storage space" warning that some system functions may not work properly. Also, when I try to install any app, I get the error: "Out of space. Free up some space and try again", which gives me a link to Manage Applications. There, I'm shown the memory usage, which is 1.8GB used / 204 MB free. So it seems like the phone is low on *memory* (although I don't know why that is, since in the previous version of Android, ICS, I never had this problem), but the strangest thing is that in terms of *disk space*, which is what the warning reports in the first place, there is plenty of space both on the SD card and in the phone's internal memory. Is this problem related to disk space or to memory, and how can I fix it? Many thanks for any help. I'd first power down then go into recovery (from the site http://androidrecovery.blogspot.com/p/samsung-devices.html): (Hold Volume Up, Home, & the Power button, continue to hold all three until the screen flashes, then release all buttons) Then navigate the menu with the volume buttons to "wipe cache" and press power. Wait for it to finish and boot up, then see how things look.
