APAR status Closed as program error. Error description After applying WebSphere MQ 7.0.1.1 on Windows, .NET client applications that rely on MQSERVER to connect to a queue manager start to fail with reason code 2277 MQRC_CD_ERROR. Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: All users of .NET using client connections from 7.0.1.1 and higher. Platforms affected: Windows **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: A .NET application connecting with client bindings fails to take into account MQSERVER or MQCHLLIB/MQCHLTAB environment variables. For example, constructing a MQQueueManager object with a queue manager name will fail to connect via client bindings with a MQRC_CD_ERROR return code. This occurs because a change went into the .NET layer to distinguish between client and server connections, which forced a client connection to construct its own MQCD before the call and hence it skips the MQSERVER, MQCHLLIB/MQCHLTAB checking. Problem conclusion The .NET layer has been modified to correctly allow the use of MQSERVER and MQCHLLIB/MQCHLTAB environment variables when basic connections are attempted (in other words, when no connection name or channel is identified by the application). | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-Windows-FP0001 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-Windows-FP0002 | --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.3 -------- -------------------- Windows U200320 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 --------------------------------------------------------------- Temporary fix Comments APAR Information APAR numberIC67277 Reported component nameWMQ WINDOWS V7 Reported component ID5724H7220 Reported release701 StatusCLOSED PER PENoPE HIPERNoHIPER Specia
