It also states that "Open this return. You'll see details on what caused the problem, and we'll walk you through fixing the return" it does not show an error and I entered the 1099R's as they were printed what do I do? Spam Profanity Threats/Abuse Inappropriate Virus/Danger Broken Links Other Answer 1 person found this helpful I received the same error code twice this week when I e-filed my NYS return. I called TurboTax tech support and explained that I received and entered 5 1099-Rs into my federal and state . I then gave the agent, Kevin, the distribution amounts, one of which https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2687182-i-got-an-email-that-said-r0505-ny-error-code-0505 was $0.06. The agent then researched the error code and provided me with the following information from the TurboTax database:"Per our conversation please note that any 1099-R which has a distribution amount less than $0.50 is not eligible for e-filing in NY. I have included in quotes the information from our Electronic Filing Engine which details e-file information and errors. The note below is associated with the R0505 error you are receiving when you e-file your return.""Please note that a return associated with a 1099R reporting a gross distribution of less than 50 cents is ineligible for e-filing in New York."I then removed the 1099-R with the distribution of less than $0.50 and e-filed. This time, within 18 hours, my NYS return was accepted. I AM NOT RECOMMENDING THAT YOU REMOVE THE 1099-R WITH A DISTRIBUTION OF LESS THAN $0.50. I'M JUST STATING WHAT I DID. Was this answer helpful?
