Nlnotes.exe Application Error Citrix

Xenapp; install; launch; crash; basic; startup Technote (troubleshooting) Problem After installing a multi-user Notes client on Win2003/2008 for use with Citrix, the client crashes with a Windows error notification, before the user sees the setup screen. Instead of the normal crash screen, the user may see something like "Notes is running but not responding" or "Lotus/IBM Notes has stopped working" No NSD is created because Notes did not actually "crash". It failed to launch. Running nlnotes.exe from the Notes program directory (Notes Basic) yields the same issue. Resolving the problem There could be several causes for this: 1. Installation issue: Notes 8.5.1 and above is only supported as a multi-user installation with the CITRIX=1 switch. Please see the below technote for installation procedure: Title: Basic Steps to Install Lotus Notes 8.5.1 (or later) Multi-User on Citrix XenApp Doc #: 1447614 URL: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21447614 The client is essentially the same as a multi-user installation on a PC, except Citrix allows multiple users to run the same program on the same machine simultaneously. All other installation methods besides the above are not supported. 2. Access issues: When launching a multi-user Notes client for the first time on an OS profile, the profile first goes to the shared data directory, located by default in C:\ProgramData\Lotus\Notes\Data (Or IBM\Notes\Data in 9.0 and above) and copies the notes.ini file in this directory to a newly created user data directory, located by default in C:\Users\\appdata\local\Lotus\Notes\Data. However, many customers choose to put users' data directories on a file share, on something like H:\Lotus\Notes\Data. Read/Write issues to either of these folders/files will cause the launch to fail, since the user can not create their own data directory. If you are experiencing the above symptoms, check if the data directory is created. If there is one already there, rename it and run the client again to see if a new one is created (expected). If one is

account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I know it has been a bit since anyone has posted here, but I have ONE user... who using Citrix 6.5 gets in and can do everything just fine EXCEPT Notes.8.5 with all FP's https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/736033-lotus-notes-8-5-3-crashes-continously-one-user-only-with-citrix-xenapp-6-5 installed ..... he crashes 3+ times each time logging out then back into citrix. eventully he gets logged in and opens Notes succsessfully but he is getting frustrated doing this every day.    I have had him completely out of Citrix http://spywarehammer.com/completed-malware-and-rootkit-removal-topics/(resolved)-process-trustedinstaller-exe-ist-permanently-active/ and deleted his (redirected) citrix profile.... any profile that ended up being local on the servers....and I have even comeplty deleted his notesroaming profile as well and rebuilt from scratch ( Once we could get logged into Notes, it errored on nlnotes.exe application the very first attempt to log in to Notes).   the error comes up right away after the double click.  I don't think it is the citrix profile as everything else works just fine. but at this point I have no clue how to proceed to get this resolved...    I apoligize if i needed to place this in another forum but this seemed the most logical place.
