Sometimes I get this message when running a lisp. But i cannot find the cause, it doesn't even break the code, so I have no idea where to look for the error, or see what goes wrong. Any way to force it to break the execution of the code? Or any idea what can cause this message to appear? You could use the Visual LISP Editor to Debug your code to see where the error occurs. Description was not provided Hi http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?58494-Error-Automation-Error-Description-was-not-provided All, I was wondering if anyone has seen this before; I am trying to put a selected object behind all objects in the drawing by doing the following; Code: (setq doc (vla-get-activedocument (vlax-get-acad-object))) (setq space (vla-get-activelayout doc)) (setq extdict (vla-getextensiondictionary (vla-get-block space))) (if (vl-catch-all-error-p (setq sorttbl (vl-catch-all-apply 'vla-Item (list extdict "ACAD_SORTENTS")))) (setq sorttbl (vla-AddObject extdict "ACAD_SORTENTS" "AcDbSortentsTable")));if (setq ent (vlax-ename->vla-object (ssname selectedObj 0))) (vlax-invoke sorttbl 'movetobottom (list ent)) ......... It works as long as I launch AutoCAD first and then open the drawing! If I double click on the drawing in Explorer (or any other programs that use the dwg file association...) the program will give me the following error : "; error: Automation Error. Description was not provided." I am totally lost!! Any help will be very much appreciated!!! Thanks! -Rick- Last edited by Opie; 2007-05-02 at 09:59 PM. Description Jiri Kovalsky 2003-06-26 15:46:58 UTC Sun ONE Studio 5.0 on Solaris 5.8 Description: ============ User doesn't get any error messages in when PVCS operation had failed. Status line displays one and the same message regardless of whether operation had succeded or not. In any case IDE must at least show output of VCS command in the output window to keep user aware on operation result status. Steps to reproduce: =================== To reproduce the problem try to call Create Project operation on the existing project node and notice that no error message displayed anywhere (except Runtime tab, that is not acceptable from usability point of view). Comment 1 Martin Entlicher 2003-06-26 16:09:06 UTC The problem is, that the PCLI commands return always exit status 0 regardless of whether they actually succeeded or not. Thus the IDE assumes that the commands succeeded. (This is true for UNIX systems. On Windows the command fails, but the error description is unexpectedly put to the standard output rather than error output!) To solve this, one would have to introduce a list of error expressions, that when matched, the command would be considered as if failed. But this is a very non-systematic and error-prone solution. It is impossible to fix this is general, only a list of error can be copied from the manual. I don't like this approach, because it's likely to break in the next version. It *may* be possible to solve this when PCLI commands are rewritten to execute through internal execution. It would have to be explored whether appropriate Java API exists in PVCS, whic
