Blank Php Page Template
only takes a minute: Sign up PHP produces a completely white page, no errors, logs, or headers. up vote 11 down vote favorite 2 While running some PHP code on my private WAMP PC I'm suddenly getting a blank response from the server - no response actually. No headers, no data, nothing in the PHP error logs, nada. I restarted drupal white screen APACHE and PHP but still nothing. I know php is working because I can access other PHP scripts just fine. Firebug reports no headers, ? bytes, and it only takes 163ms to "load" (so it's not a timeout). I thought about rapid memory consumption - but I monitored my PC's memory and it's not showing any spikes. Errors and Exceptions have been working fine until now. What in the world? max_execution_time = 30 ; max_input_time = 60 ; max_input_nesting_level = 64 ; memory_limit = 500M ; error_reporting = E_ALL | E_NOTICE | E_STRICT display_errors = On log_errors = On :EDIT: I wouldn't touch @ with a ten-foot-pole. I think the ruby guys throw that in there so programmers would drop PHP. Anyway, I enabled xdebug and it didn't output any grind files. Then I took zombat's advice and placed a DIE() at the top of the page and it worked. I guess that I just have some very weird code that totally kills PHP. Even if errors were disabled or suppressed with @ I should still be getti

Error_reporting
a site user or developer will navigate to a page and suddenly the page content disappears, and it becomes blank. No content. No errors. Nothing. This happens sometimes, It http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1944105/php-produces-a-completely-white-page-no-errors-logs-or-headers could happen after updating a module, theme, or Drupal core. This is what is referred to by most members of the Drupal community as the White Screen of Death or WSOD. There are several reasons why this might occur, and therefore several possible solutions to the issue. (Note: The suggestions on this page might solve the problem even https://www.drupal.org/node/158043 when you do not get the WSOD as it relates to an Internal Server Error.) "Invisible" Errors If error reporting is turned off, you could be getting a fatal error but not seeing it. On a production site, it is common to have error reporting turned off. If that is the case and PHP has hit an unrecoverable error, neither an error nor content will be displayed, therefore you end up with a completely blank page. What you can do about this is either turn on PHP error reporting so it displays a message on the page itself, or check your log files (from the server) to look for the error. How to do both of these are explained below. Enable Error Reporting Although it may be turned off on commercial hosts and production sites (for good reason, so that users do not see the errors), these errors are one of your best tools for troubleshooting. To enable error reporting, temporarily edit your index.php file (normally located in your root directory)
in the logs. I have added error reporting in my common.php file. If this was a fatal error i'd of thought https://www.sitepoint.com/community/t/white-screen-of-death-no-errors-on-screen-or-in-logs/25940 it would show up. I am working with GIT, and have rolled back 3 or 4 commits, but this does not seem to help. I have been working on this project for 6 months, so i am actually pretty stumped as to why this has happened. I am using AMPPS stack locally. Anyone else had anything like this before? Cups 2013-01-19 13:56:30 UTC #2 What happens when no error you run this script then? http://localhost/test.php test.php tomdringer 2013-01-19 14:17:00 UTC #3 Thanks for your reply. I've already got E_ALL and display errors, but actually even echoing text isn't working, but i've tried phpinfo(); in the root of the directory and that is fine. It says it should be displaying and logging errors. page no errors Cups 2013-01-19 14:33:50 UTC #4 How do you know the server is running then? tomdringer 2013-01-19 14:58:05 UTC #5 AMPPS says it is running, and i've used different virtual hosts today. Cups 2013-01-19 18:08:04 UTC #6 Sounds as if the server is running but PHP is not configured or there is a httpd directive out of kilter, or the host is not being found. These are the usual suspects anyway ... tomdringer 2013-01-20 18:17:53 UTC #7 Thanks for your reply. I've been checking my Smarty template directories, permissions etc, and have made a new GIT branch. Still no further, still no errors. tomdringer 2013-01-20 20:51:12 UTC #8 Ok, finally got to the bottom of this. I was trying to connect to a remote mysql db, which had been deleted, but i didn't have sufficient error handling on the query, so it just white screened. @Cups - Thanks for your help. Cups 2013-01-21 17:33:15 UTC #9 Thx for replying with the cause, I'm sorry but I don't think I managed to suggest anything helpful, but heck, I shared your pain for a bit... system 2014-10-08 03:34:42 UTC #10 Home Categories FAQ/Guidelines Terms of Service Privacy Policy Powered by Discourse, best viewed with JavaSc
