Windows Registry (problems With Directplay) Started by Olnir , Aug 29 2007 12:07 PM Please log in to reply 7 replies to this topic #1 Olnir Olnir Members 4 posts OFFLINE Local time:01:15 AM Posted 29 August 2007 - 12:07 PM I have been trying for months now to correct a problem with my sound, voice specifically. I believe it is a registry problem since I have tried different pieces of equipment (headphones, microphones, etc) and different USB ports (I have 7 in all). When I try to test my sound hardware I get the following error: Direct Play Voice Setup: An error occurred during DirectPlay voice setup. The error code is 0x80004005. click OK then I get Windows error: Windows cannot execute DpvSetup.exe, use Add/Remove Programs control panel to install. I have gone into regedit and changed my duplex settings to 3, 3, 2 and it still does not correct it. I did notice earlier though that under Audioconfig I have 3 duplex folders with 1 of them being a duplicate. I have a screenshot but am not sure how to put it in this post. I have also noticed that my duplex settings do not seem to be saving... What I am wondering (A) Is it poss

DirectPlay http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/106267/windows-registry-problems-with-directplay/ Voice error? i can't use my mic! I have a problem with recording audio from a microphone. The audigy 2 ZS is installed properly and configured properly, and works great, except that I can't use a microphone with the board or my onboard sound. I was hoping you guys could help me to get this issue resolved, as I received the card today. The specific problem occurs in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" control panel. All of the http://www.sharkyforums.com/showthread.php?228129-DpvSetup-exe-error-DirectPlay-Voice-error-i-can-t-use-my-mic! fields are selected for the SB audigy card. Under the "Voices" tab, I try to test the hardware. At the end of the hardware test, i get these errors: "An error occurred during DirectPlay Voice setup. The error code is 0x80004005" I close that error window and i get another error: "Windows cannot execute DpvSetup.exe, use Add/Remove Programs control panel to install" This is really pissing me off because I bought this card SPECIFICALLY for microphone support (and EAX, but that works great). This is likely to be a problem with Windows XP. Many people are having the exact same problems in Windows XP. (PS I uninstalled my virus protection program, but the problem is still not resolved) Reply With Quote 02-29-2004,09:49 AM #2 Seoulstriker View Profile View Forum Posts Tiger Shark Join Date Dec 2003 Posts 976 no one can help me? i guess i need to reinstall windows.
