When i first try to open an email it outlook express error complains that it can't find a .pst file???? Which has nothing to do with OE and after this on every attempt to open an email or address book it says "there was an error opening this message". Tried to create a new identity but as soon as I do this OE shuts down and won't open until reboot. Can still receive emails. Tried XP repair but when finished it wanted to activate windows before letting me login which I clicked OK to however all I get is a blank desktop background. So went back and reloaded backup image which I created before started repairs and ran sfc /scannow which did not solve the problem. I am trying to avoid a complete reinstall. Any ideas please? Discussion in 'Web & Email' started by bizwiz2, Oct 13, 2007. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement bizwiz2 Thread Starter Joined: May 8, 2002 Messages: 148 When I open Outlook Express, a box pops up and says, "There was a problem switching folders, possibly because the folder was busy. Please wait a moment and try again." When I close that box & click on any of my folders, The list of emails and their subjects appear in the top frame on the right. But the lower frame where the body should be is blank. When I try to open the email, another box pops up and says,"One or more parts of this message could not be displayed." When I close that box, another pops up and says,"There was an error opening this message. There is not enough memory." How can I fix this? Thank you. bizwiz2, Oct 13, 2007 #1 Sponsor EAFiedler Moderator Joined: Apr 25, 2000 Messages: 14,042 Hi bizwiz2 Do you still receive the error message if you disable the Preview pane? View > Layout... Uncheck: Show Preview Pane Apply, OK to save and close. Is your Inbox full? If so, empty it, move messages you want to keep to folders of your own creation in Outlook Express. Keep the Inbox empty and any other default folder in Outlook Express. Inbox, Outbox, Deleted Items, Drafts and Sent Items folders. Let us know if that makes a difference or not. However, I still cannot open any of my emails. When I try, the other two boxes stilll pop up. bizwiz2, Oct 13, 2007 #3 EAFiedler Moderator Joined: Apr 25, 2000 Messages: 14,042 Have you emptied the Inbox?
