There is a choice to download and also hit space, both of which I have done and nothing changes. I have about 125 emails in the inbox and am able to read the new ones as they come in. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement neeks Thread Starter Joined: Aug 25, 2007 Messages: 11 Could someone help me with this issue please? A couple of days ago we received an email with this error: "Message has not been downloaded Outlook express has not yet downloaded this message To download this message: - Click Here - Press Space Outlook Express" The here is linked to this https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/outlook-express-has-not-yet-downloaded-this-message-536564/ address: "athcmd:download" I clicked it, nothing. I press space, nothing. We cannot read the email, we cannot read the attachment. Also some do not even carry attachments, most are text. I go a little further and open the email, an error message is still there but now says to free some memory. So I do a disk clean-up, and check the hard drive and notice that I have more https://forums.techguy.org/threads/outlook-express-message-has-not-been-downloaded.635891/ than enough memory. Tried to forward these to another machine but the forward and even reply buttons are blocked. Also i just noticed that from 3rd party it might be something such as spam mail/phishers but I'd like to assume that it is not. The addresses are from clients/friends and the subject of the emails are relative. And the weird thing is is that it started doing this from 9/17 all the way to 10/5 but everything before and after that time works fine. Any ideas on how to get these emails to function properly? Thanks in advance. neeks, Oct 9, 2007 #1 moffon Joined: Aug 5, 2008 Messages: 1 Did you ever solve this problem? Posting an email address on a public forum such as this is the quickest way to receiving literally a flood of spam once the internet spambots pick it up. Posted on 2004-07-26 Outlook 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 579 Views Last Modified: 2012-08-14 In Outlook Express I went to check an email out in one outlook express of my many mail subfolders, to be greeted by the following message in place of the mail text: Message has not been downloaded Outlook Express has not yet downloaded this message. To download the message: Click here. Press Space. Outlook Express I've had this in a newsgroup folder before obviously, but not in a mail folder. I get this message for the 13 most recent emails in this folder, but messages before that display fine. I can't outlook express message see this behaviour in any other folder (yet!). This is alarming as I seem to have lost these messages completely. Any way to recover them? I do occassional backups but only every month or so, so some of these messages are not backed up. Haven't tried what you suggest, but can do. How would that affect already stored messages? Out of interest, have just noticed that the To, From and Subjest fields are all blank in the message itself, but they show up in the messages "list" in the pane above..... strange.... 0 LVL 49 Overall: Level 49 Outlook 26 Message Accepted Solution by:sunray_20032004-07-27 I would suggest you to backup all outlook express data OLEXP: How to Back Up and Recover Outlook Express Data http://su

I was having trouble yesterday opening Outlook Express on my old resource-challenged system. When I was opening HWiNFO32 at the same time as Outlook Express, I got OE opened, but HWiNFO32 froze, so badly that I had to reboot with the power button. (So now I know I can't do anything simultaneous with opening Outlook Express on this system.) A number of the e-mails that are there now have this instead of the e-mail text: Quote: Message has not been downloaded Outlook Express has not yet downloaded this message. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To download the message: Click here [athcmd:download]. Press Space. So far that has not worked for me, and I can't open those messages. When I brought OE back up on the next session, dozens of other e-mails are missing, apparently e-mails that were being loaded at the time HWiNFO32 got hung. How do I get them back?
