Hi,I faced the same problem. What I did is, open the email which is stuck in the outbox and click on send once again and then do send/receive. The email will then go to sent items. Search your hard drive for Outbox.dbx and delete this file. Restart Outlook Express. A new empty outbox folder is created automatically. you will see that you have no more items in your outbox.
