My Outlook express is not working. I have two computers and it stopped working on both. I've tried a few things like changing the url server to http://oe.hotmail.com/secure/hmdata but that made no http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-networking/outlook-express-server-error998-socket-error87/e4452f10-50dc-4262-943f-f0dc525aeaa1 difference. I use it to check 8 or 10 different hotmail addresses and it's not working for any of them. There are the messages I get: An unknown error has occurred. and my OE mail do not seem to be working together. I have deleted and taken out trash on http://www.yqcomputer.com/1224_8722_1.htm hotmail but I still see e-mails that were deleted in hotmail in OE mail. and cannot delete them. Note I have recentely uninstalled and reinsdtalled McAfee that came with my msn premium account and uninstalled Spysweeper. Could this cause any problems with OE mail? I do not recall ever having received and e-mail stating this was happening in September. After checking all your links, the question remains What if I don't want any e-mail information to appear in Outlook Express, but I still want to use OE for the newsgroups? Would it have to be uninstalled then would it come back with just Newscroups? I'm not even sure if it can be uninstalled without uninstalling Windows XP since I do not see it listed in Add Remove.
