I run a society and want a formatted signature for my e-mails. I can't achieve that in the text box so I linked to a file. I have followed all the instructions but no matter what I do the signature won't appear on my e-mails. I did manage to get something once but it talked about being truncated.Could anyone advise me on if this is possible please? Many thanksMy ideal signature would be the following (in Arial Rounded MTB size 10, with Stephen Sondheim in bold and with hyperlinks for web site and e-mailLynne ChapmanAdministratorThe Stephen Sondheim SocietyPatrons Stephen SondheimBarbara Cook David Kernan Julia McKenzie Millicent Martin Stuar

I used an internet tutorial a few weeks ago to help me create a manual signature to my emails. No problem ! I now wanted to add my telephone number. So , I modifed my word file , then saved it , then overwrote the .htm file that I had created the opther week. I then went into Outlook Express deleted the previous outlook express signature details and started again (an overkill maybe , but I thought maybe you can't be too careful). I then tested it and got the error message "Warning : your signature file is too large. It has been truncated. Please make the file smaller." Now I cannot get ANY signature no matter how I try ! Anyone got any bright ideas ? zantelover, Nov 30, 2009 #1 Sponsor Phantom010 Trusted Advisor Joined: Mar 9, 2009 Messages: 34,572 What outlook express signature is your version of Outlook Express? It shouldn't be happening in OE 6. Phantom010, Nov 30, 2009 #2 VistaRookie Joined: Apr 26, 2008 Messages: 1,956 Do you have an image file in your signature? Or is it all text? VistaRookie, Nov 30, 2009 #3 zantelover Thread Starter Joined: Jan 2, 2009 Messages: 154 I have OE6 , I do not have any picture files in the signature and when I took out the telephone number to put the signature back to where it was , it STILL didn't work !! zantelover, Nov 30, 2009 #4 VistaRookie Joined: Apr 26, 2008 Messages: 1,956 My guess would be that it did not save as an .HTM file? Signature with HTML file but no logo. 1) Open up a new email. Type the text you want in your signature. Choose color/font/size. 2) There should be 3 buttons at the very bottom of the email. Click Source. You are now looking at the HTML source code that you need. Alternately you can use CTRL F2. 3) Open Notepad (Start->Programs->Accessories) 4) Copy the relevant code from the email into Notepad. That will include everything between these two lines of code:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xx
