Message List New Topic luvallcomputers Konica Minolta PagePro 1350W Error April 01, 2007 03:49AM I have a usb pagepro 1350w minolta on sabayon. I can find the driver and it seems to install ok but I get error when sending a test page. Here is the localhost 631 error on the screen: "/usr/libexec/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed". I have tried searching the internet for the foomatic error without much luck. I have read everything that I could find on cups. I did an emerge deep for cups and have installed cups 1.2.9. I could not get a network brother hl2070n to work before I did the emerge and now that printer is working fine. It is on the network with ip address. I have three printers showing on usb 1 on local host 631. One is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkoM7cGWbP8 the minolta, one is a canon and the other is a epson. I also have a canon and epson showing on parallel but have nothing attached to the port. I am at a lost as to what to try next to get the usb printer to work. I know cups said the printer worked mostly and usb was the best choice so I must be missing something. If anyone can help thank you. I did not want to trash the minolta. I also http://forums.openprinting.org/read.php?27,1417 had problems when trying to use it on win vista. I am using 64 bit version on sabayon and vista and like sabayon a lot more. I did notice that the CUPS log says CUPS-Add-Modify-Printer: Unauthorized. I rebooted to see if that would help but the printer was no longer listed. Running Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy) Gnome. I am using Debian Lenny and it comes with some 1350W .ppd preinstalled, however using this .ppd resulted in the same error message. You should really make sure that you configured cups to use the correct .ppd file. After the installation of min12xxw drivers, I had 2 .ppd files for 12xxW, 13xxW and 14xxW printers (I could see 2 .ppd files for each of those printers while configuring the printer in the cups web interface). The first one was in /usr/share/ppd/foomatic-rip/linuxprinting.org-gs-builtin/Minolta (or wherever you have the ppd files) and the second was in /usr/share/ppd/~min12xxw/Minolta (which was apparently created during the installation of min12xxw drivers). The first one was wrong. So, I temporarily removed the wrong one to make sure that I will not accidentally tell cups to use it, than configured the printe
