When I try to run php-win.exe, I got the following error: This application failed to start because ntwdblib.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. What is this error? I googled through and I found some bugs that related to missing ntwdblib.dll file. Is this a bug? How can I solve this? Best regards, ethereal1m Back to top #2 blueman378 blueman378 Advanced Member Members 889 posts Locationnew zealand Posted 24 November 2009 - 07:43 PM ive also got the same error on windows 7 home premium, the error only appears if i try to start apache directly from httpd.exeif i attempt to start it from the apache monitor i get: "The requested operation has failed" however nothing is logged.I noticed that if i remove the php info from the httpd.confie: #BEGIN PHP INSTALLER EDITS - REMOVE ONLY ON UNINSTALLPHPIniDir "C:/apacheserver/php/"LoadModule php5_module "C:/apacheserver/php/php5apache2_2.dll"#END PHP INSTALLER EDITS - REMOVE ONLY ON UNINSTALLthen apache will start, oddly enough i have to remove both lines, if i remove only the ini directive, or only the load_module directive i get the same error. But and here is the big but... I am dumb... lol im not saying they dont use java but im saying they must have some form of serverside protection?like a php condom Back to top #3 ethereal1m ethereal1m Advanced Member Members 58 posts Posted 25 November 2009 - 02:21 AM Isn't that removing both directives disabling php on Apache?I just figure it out that the ntwdblib.dll is required for MSSQL, and I don't have it installed. I will try to reinstall this without the wizard and do it manually instead. Back to top #4 blueman378 blueman378 Advanced Member Members 889 posts Locationnew zeala

I'm having some issues connecting to MS SQL 2000/2005 (MySQL connectivity is working fine, ASP/ASP.NET scripts can connect to MS SQL successfully as well). One solution suggests copying the SQL Client Tools ntwdblib.dll file to the PHP extensions folder or installing all of the SQL Client Tools on the web server (which I'm reluctant to do). Another solution suggested is to use the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Driver for PHP. This looks fine for writing greenfield apps but for applications such as phpBBS or WordPress this doesn't appear to work. For example, the following script: Fails with: PHP Warning: mssql_connect() [function.mssql-connect]: Unable to connect to server: mssqlhost in E:\AppsDev.NET_UK_Minds\phpSqlNC\www\test.php on line 6 The goal is to allow PHP scripts to connect to both SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 which are running on different servers. I should also add that upgrading to a later version of PHP isn't an option at this time. What is the correct way to configure PHP on Windows 2003/IIS6 to connect to SQL 2000/2005? php sql-server windows iis-6 share|improve this question edited Dec 25 '12 at 0:59 Charles 40.2k1069107 asked Apr 14 '09 at 13:12 Kev 83k36227317 The fact that you get that message seems like it's working. Are you sure the host is OK (your typing MYSql host and using MSSql_connect)? Can you connect to the server with a client (to test connectivity). –Bart S. Apr 14 '09 at 13:17 1 Connectivity is fine and verified using SQL management studio. This seems to be a known issue with PHP + MS SQL but there seems
