Php Error Parsing Browscap.ini
09:39 UTC From: tilman dot giese at globalview dot de Assigned: Status: Closed Package: *General Issues PHP Version: 4.3.1 OS: Linux 2.4.20 Private report: No CVE-ID: View Add Comment Developer Edit [2003-03-14 09:16 UTC] tilman dot giese at globalview dot de I am using the browscap feature on two servers and I have encountered a mysterious behavior. Although both servers are nearly identical (one is in our private network and the other one available on the internet), the public server reports the error message in the summary very often. At first, I thought that it would be the browscap file itself, but after I changed to a more recent version, the error remained (despite the fact that line 6801 has changed). Now, I suspect that it is the number 6801 which seems to have a certain magic. Thanks - Jody Hi, In my browscap.ini, there were several entries with ! in them. After I removed all of those entries, it mysteriously parsed ok. I think maybe the ! has to be escaped somehow? but i don't know how. Example: [Y!OASIS/*] parent=Yahoo browser=Y!OASIS stripper=True I removed that whole section and the next parse error was: [Searchmee! Spider v0.98a] parent=Search Engines browser=Searchmee! ... Per http://tempdownloads.browserscap.com it seems we should be using http://tempdownloads.browserscap.com/stream.php?PHP_BrowsCapINI instead of http://tempdownloads.browserscap.com/stream.php?BrowsCapINI I modified line 51 of import.inc to resolve the problem. Before: $browscap_data = drupal_http_request('http://tempdownloads.browserscap.com/stream.php?BrowsCapINI'); After: $browscap_data = drupal_http_request('http://tempdownloads.browserscap.com/stream.php?PHP_BrowsCapINI'); Log in or register to post comments Comment #3 toomanypets CreditAttribution: toomanypets commented December 4, 2012 at 12:43am Category: support » bug Log in or register to post comments Comment #4 izmeez CreditAttribution: izmeez commented December 4, 2012 at 7:01pm @toomanypets Thank you.
