on my php file. errors are: Warning: fsockopen() and notices are: Notice: A non well formed numeric value encountered in I am planning to use cron for this php script and do not want to get any errors or notices logged anywhere. php mysql share|improve this question edited Sep 26 at 13:46 Mark 2,0651425 asked Oct 29 '09 at 18:27 Ossi 3151718 4 If you don't want errors e-mailed to you by cron, you can point disable warning in php ini its output at /dev/null. Still, errors are generally there for a reason - you'd presumably like to know when your cron script breaks! Try handling the errors gracefully. –ceejayoz Oct 29 '09 at 18:43 Somewhere related: stackoverflow.com/questions/4330494/… –trante Sep 7 '12 at 13:57 add a comment| 6 Answers 6 active oldest votes up vote 114 down vote accepted When you are sure your script is perfectly working, you can get rid of Warning and notices like this: Put this line at the beginning of your php script: error_reporting(E_ERROR); Before that, when working on your script, i would advise you to properly debug your script so that all notice or warning disappear one by one. So you should first set it as verbose as possible with: error_reporting(E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE | E_NOTICE); UPDATE : how to log errors instead of displaying them As suggested in the comments, the better solution is to log errors into a file so only the php developer sees the error messages, not the users. A possible implementation is via the .htaccess file, useful if you don't have access to the php.ini file (source). # supress php errors php_flag display_startup_errors off php_flag display_errors off php_flag html_errors off php_value docref_root 0 php_value docref_ext 0 # enable PHP error logging php_flag log_errors on php_value error_log /home/path/public_html/domain/PHP_errors.log # prevent access to PHP error log here for a quick overview of the site Help Center Detailed answers to any questions you might have Meta Discuss the workings and policies of this site About Us Learn more about Stack Overflow the php error reporting not working company Business Learn more about hiring developers or posting ads with us Stack Overflow Questions Jobs Documentation Tags Users Badges Ask Question x Dismiss Join the Stack Overflow Community Stack Overflow is a community of 6.2 million programmers, just like you, helping each other. Does it do the same when you try ini_set('error_reporting',0); ? –J A May 22 '12 at 23:34 2 Define "did not worked". –deceze May 22 '12 at 23:36 put 'phpinfo();' after that and check what the error settings are under 'core' –Sp4cecat May 22 '12 at 23:38 "I placed it into my website" WHERE did you place it? What file? –Paul Dessert May 22 '12 at 23:43 "It doesn't work" doesn't explain the problem enough. You need to elaborate on your input, expected and actual outcomes, or concretise error messages. In particular if you imply you still got error messages. And no, fatal/parsing errors cannot be trapped as that command would be executed afterwards. –mario May 22 '12 at 23:45 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 38 down vote Tried this yet? error_reporting(0); @ini_set('display_errors', 0); share|impr Learn Bootstrap Learn Graphics Learn Icons Learn How To JavaScript Learn JavaScript Learn jQuery Learn jQueryMobile Learn AppML Learn AngularJS Learn JSON Learn AJAX Server Side Learn SQL Learn PHP Learn ASP Web Building http://www.w3schools.com/Php/func_error_reporting.asp Web Templates Web Statistics Web Certificates XML Learn XML Learn XML AJAX Learn XML DOM Learn XML DTD Learn XML Schema Learn XSLT Learn XPath Learn XQuery × HTML HTML Tag Reference HTML Event Reference HTML Color Reference HTML Attribute Reference HTML Canvas Reference HTML SVG Reference Google Maps Reference CSS CSS Reference CSS Selector Reference W3.CSS Reference Bootstrap Reference Icon Reference JavaScript JavaScript Reference HTML DOM Reference php error jQuery Reference jQuery Mobile Reference AngularJS Reference XML XML Reference XML Http Reference XSLT Reference XML Schema Reference Charsets HTML Character Sets HTML ASCII HTML ANSI HTML Windows-1252 HTML ISO-8859-1 HTML Symbols HTML UTF-8 Server Side PHP Reference SQL Reference ASP Reference × HTML/CSS HTML Examples CSS Examples W3.CSS Examples Bootstrap Examples JavaScript JavaScript Examples HTML DOM Examples jQuery Examples jQuery Mobile Examples AngularJS Examples AJAX Examples XML php turn off XML Examples XSLT Examples XPath Examples XML Schema Examples SVG Examples Server Side PHP Examples ASP Examples Quizzes HTML Quiz CSS Quiz JavaScript Quiz Bootstrap Quiz jQuery Quiz PHP Quiz SQL Quiz XML Quiz × PHP Tutorial PHP HOME PHP Intro PHP Install PHP Syntax PHP Variables PHP Echo / Print PHP Data Types PHP Strings PHP Constants PHP Operators PHP If...Else...Elseif PHP Switch PHP While Loops PHP For Loops PHP Functions PHP Arrays PHP Sorting Arrays PHP Superglobals PHP Forms PHP Form Handling PHP Form Validation PHP Form Required PHP Form URL/E-mail PHP Form Complete PHP Advanced PHP Arrays Multi PHP Date and Time PHP Include PHP File Handling PHP File Open/Read PHP File Create/Write PHP File Upload PHP Cookies PHP Sessions PHP Filters PHP Filters Advanced PHP Error Handling PHP Exception MySQL Database MySQL Database MySQL Connect MySQL Create DB MySQL Create Table MySQL Insert Data MySQL Get Last ID MySQL Insert Multiple MySQL Prepared MySQL Select Data MySQL Delete Data MySQL Update Data MySQL Limit Data PHP - XML PHP XML Parsers PHP SimpleXML Parser PHP SimpleXML - Get PHP XML Expat PHP XML DOM PHP - AJAX AJAX Intro AJAX PHP AJAX Database AJAX XML AJAX Live Disable Php Warnings Wordpress
