Plants Vs Zombies Failed Reading File
Join Date: Jan 2012 Reputation: 0 Posts: 4 "Error reading file" issue Hi, I have seen posts about this and no answers
Plants Vs Zombies File Too Short
that have fixed it so far. Essentially, the game crashes on load with the error "Error reading file". The issue does not appear on my Macbook, just Windows 7 desktop. I contacted Popcap directly and got the following response: "PopCap Games has a number of affiliate partners who sell and distribute our games on their own websites. As we do not have access to our partners' order systems or database, we must refer you to the affiliate for support. Steam (Valve Corporation) https://support.steampowered.com/ They will be able to locate your order, help troubleshoot, and issue a new download if necessary." So I contacted Steam who asked to validate the game cache (which I did) and I also reinstalled the game multiple times. After all this I was told the following: "Further technical support for this title is handled by a third party support department - please follow the instructions below to contact the support provider to troubleshoot this issue: Title: Plants vs. Zombies Link: http://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7860-AKZB-2873" but this only brings me back to the Popcap support page. What do I do now? igiggles View Public Profile Search User Find More Posts by igiggles Find Threads by igiggles 06-13-2012, 08:11 PM #2 loveoftech Join Date: May 2012 Reputation: 0 Posts: 3 I was having the same problem, but I figured out a fix. On your PC, go to "C:\ProgramData\Steam\PlantsVsZombies" (ProgramData might be hidden) you'll see two folders, "userdata" and "userdata_backup" open userdata, and delete everything in it (NOT the folder it's self) then try to run the game again. If this does not work, copy every thing in "userdata_backup" to "userdata" (turning off Steam Cloud synch. might help too) and when you play it on your mac, make sure to play with steam in offline mode. Hope this helps. loveoftech View Public Profile Search User Find More Posts by loveoftech Find Threads by loveoftech 06-13-2012, 09:26 PM #3 lourivellini Join Date: May 2012 Reputation: 2 Posts: 114 Quote: Originally Posted by loveoftech I was h

you’re getting an error message reading “Error User File is Wrong Size" or "Invalid File Version” when trying to play the https://support.wildtangent.com/hc/en-us/articles/202862775-Plants-vs-Zombies-Error-User-File-is-Wrong-Size-or-Invalid-File game Plants Vs Zombies, this means that the save data for the game (where your game progress is stored) has become corrupted. This prevents the game from launching and http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/plants-v-zombies-failed-reading-file-629354.html will give you these error messages. How do I resolve this? While this means you plants vs will be deleting your game progress, you will be able to start fresh using your new experience to get even better scores! Where are the save data files? This will vary depending on the Windows Operating System you are running.
