The playlist should not exceed the capacity of the CD or you will be asked if you want to use multiple CDs (but see this thread too : http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1986502). If you are in the main Library it won't work - you have to burn a playlist. Also, have you selected what type of disk you want to burn? (Audio, MP3, data - you need to select Audio). If I insert a blank disc first, let Finder recognize it and tell it to "Ignore," then as soon as I tell iT what kind of disc to burn, it starts right up. I too am using a MacBook Pro, 17", 2.4, w/MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-85J. I wonder if it's a hardware issue? Twan3, exactly what MacBook Pro do you have? Helpful

I burned 6 last week with no problem. I use Windows Media Player, and the CD-ROM drive came with the computer please insert (E-Machines). When I click "BURN" a box pops up with "please insert a blank disc." The disc is blank, and I have tried several different ones. When I look under "properties" of the drive, it shows all the space "used" (the circle is all blue) but used space is 0 bytes, and available space is 0 bytes. I tried to insert blank cd drag and drop, also, to make a data disc, but that would not work, either - same message "please insert a blank disc" I've tried playing other CD's in the drive, and they all work fine. It just won't recognize blank discs Please Help! danadouget, May 9, 2007 #1 Sponsor linskyjack Joined: Aug 28, 2004 Messages: 22,811 Sounds like a corrupt driver.
