Windows Server > Print/Fax Question 0 Sign in to vote I printer spooling error vista have 3 printers that are deployed via group policy. The printers apply fine and with some users they printer spooling service not running will work fine for some time and then all of a sudden they will start popping spooler errors on the local machine. I restart the computer and it https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/934885 still fails. I can only get it working again by manually mapping the printers. The issue isn't with any specific printer. When it fails it fails on all printers and none of the printers will print until I manually remap. This only happens to a few users. All the client computers are XP. Any suggestions? The printer has stopped working. The printer is fine and so is the USB cable. I have tried a few USB ports that work with other devices. I tried reinstalling driver - I get the popup that driver installs correctly and device is ready to use however no printer shows up under PRINTERS. If I go Control Panel > printers the pane is empty! Trying to ADD a printer I get error I can't reinstall the OS as the system controls a medical machine and the installed application is not easily recovered. System Restore is not enabled either!
