work: ADODB.Connection error '800a0e7a' up vote 0 down vote favorite I've installed three of the client packages on Windows Server 2008 Standard but still cannot open a connection because of the error "Provider not found". All of these packages are for 64bit. C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe screenshot: c:\windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe screenshot: NO ORACLE DRIVER!!! <% Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") conn.Open "Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;Password=XXXX;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=XXXX;Data Source=XXXX" %> When I run the code, provider cannot be found 3706 it gives an error: ADODB.Connection error '800a0e7a' Provider not found. I've also read similar questions and did what they suggest but I'm stuck at this error. 32bit app pool is also enabled. According your code you use OLE DB, that has nothing to do with drivers ODBC listed in odbcad32.exe. –Wernfried Domscheit Mar 2 '15 at 13:06 I'm gonna edit the title... –Nime Cloud Mar 2 '15 at 14:23 Also the first and second screenshot are not related to any OLE DB Provider –Wernfried Domscheit Mar 2 '15 at 14:49 A similar question is mentioned them. Better I'll keep them for future references. –Nime Cloud Mar 3 '15 at 7:53 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted Ora

This might also help - 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine error –Lankymart Feb 12 '14 at 10:06 add a comment| 6 Answers 6 active oldest votes up vote 14 down vote Check the site's Application Pool in IIS / Application Pools / YourPoolHere / Advanced Settings : 1) Managed Pipeline Mode : Classic 2) Advanced / Enable 32-Bit Applications: True share|improve this answer edited Aug 6 '15 at 9:17 answered Oct 14 '14 at 0:43 James McCormack 6,56133450 Changing these two settings made it work for me. –CigarDoug Feb 2 '15 at 14:03 add a comment| up vote 6 down vote You should use the provider available in your machine. Goto Control Panel Goto Administrator Tools Goto Data Sources (ODBC) Click the "Drivers" tab. Do you see something called "SQL Server Native Client"? See the attached screen shot. This can be caused by an incomplete upgrade or a bad install of the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) components. RESOLUTION Here are two ways to resolve this problem: Register the Msdasql.dll using the following command: REGSVR32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ole db\MSDASQL.DLL" Reinstall the Microsoft Data Access Components used. The newest version of MDAC can be downloaded from the following Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/data/download.htm STATUS This behavior is by design. I'm trying to use ASP (VBScript) to connect to an Oracle Database and it's not quite working out the way I thought it would. There's not a lot of information out there, and I tried googling several options of keywords and phrases, but without much luck. First question: does anyone know good online resources where I can learn about this? My second question, in case anyone here has experience doing it, is whether you know why I keep getting the following error message: Oracle Automation error '800a01b8' Unable to make connection, ORA-12535: TNS: operation timed out /incidents/email.asp, line 43 This is the code I'm using currently: <% Set OraSession = Server.CreateObject("OracleInProcServer.XOraSession") Set OraDatabase = OraSession.DbOpenDatabase("something.world", "username/password",Cint(0)) Set OraDynaset = OraDatabase.DbCreateDynaset( _ "REALLY LONG AND COMPLICATED SQL STATEMENT HERE, WHICH IS DOUBLE-CHECKED AND ACCURATE", cint(0)) Do While(osRecordset.EOF = FALSE) Response.write(osRecordset.Fields("fu.USER_NAME") & "
") osRecordSet.MoveNext Loop Set OraDynaset = nothing Set OraDatabase = nothing Set OraSession = nothing %> Thanks for your time!!
