time, but I see the PS button turning on often. I know orange means charging, but once in a while it will flash a few times then turn off again, at first I thought it means I had a notification but turning the screen on shows nothing. Is there a guide somewhere which explains the different signals? ps-vita share|improve this question asked Jun 7 '12 at 12:40 JohnoBoy 14.3k650100 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 6 down vote accepted As seen here, different lights display different power states or notifications. Solid blue: Plugged in Flashing blue: Standby mode Slow blue flash: Unread message or information Solid orange: Charging, but powered off Flashing orange: Battery is going to call it quits soon There's also the so called BFLOD (Blue Flashing Light of Death) that indicates a problem with the vita itself. You can resort to the initialization menu you get by pressing the power button for 30 seconds and trying the different options there. share|improve this answer answered Jun 7 '12 at 13:11 Gamb

Could the problem be that I don't have a memory card? or is it the battery itself? Please help me! I really want to play my games. thanks for the time! nielspieleke pikpol, Mar 2, 2015 Top #1 Contributor Tom Bombadildo Honk! Joined: Jul 11, 2009 Messages: 8,509 Location: I forgot Country: The orange blinking light indicates having no charge, and the Vita won't turn on until it has enough charge (the orange light will be solid instead of blinking). https://gbatemp.net/threads/ps-vita-orange-light-blinks.382911/ Either you have a bad charger cable, a bad USB wall adapter (assuming that's what you're using) or what is highly unlikely, a bad internal battery. I suggest trying a different wall adapter and a different cable, leave it over night, and see if the Vita is charged in the morning. PC does recognise it and displays the battery as 0% and plugged in. The light blinks dofferently sometimes. I've seen the light blink orange once and then goes off, saw the light blink orange twice and goes off and saw the light blink orange a couple of times and go off after like 30 seconds or it blinks all the time. It could be that it needs a memory card again to get up and running but i dont think that is necessary. I just think it is a faulty battery pikpol, Mar 3, 2015 Top #5 OP Member pikpol GBAtemp Regular Joined: May 13, 2009 Messages: 151 Country: I ordere

PS Vita troubleshooting tips #1 - Blue flashing light of death By Steven Williamson on 12 March 2012 According to the PS Vita manual, a blue flashing light indicates that the user has just inserted a disc or is in the process of ejecting a disc, but it can also crop up as a technical error, preventing users from turning the hand-held on or off.The good news is that if the PlayStation Home button on your unit does continuously flash blue, and the screen goes blank so you can’t turn PS Vita on or off, there is a quick solution. In fact, the “Blue Flashing Light Of Death’ doesn't actually kill your PS Vita. Users can breathe life back into the unit by following these simple steps.1. Hold down the power on/off button for approximately 30 seconds.2. Wait for a menu screen to appear that shows you the following options:- Restart the PS Vita system- Rebuild Database- Format Memory Card- Restore the PS Vita system- Update System Sofware3. Choose Restart the PS Vita system- The system should now restart with no problems Is this becoming a frequent issue? We’ve experienced the blue flashing light during a play session on Unit 13,when the PS Vita froze and then black-screened. Each time we got to a certain point in a particular mission it would repeat the problem. We deleted the game and downloaded it again from the PlayStation Store. This fixed the ongoing issue. If the following steps do not fix your unit, contact Sony’s customer support.
