A network cable/connection is not present. Network Boot is in the boot order before a present boot device.To resolve this error, remove Boot to LAN from the list of boot devices in BIOS Setup. The following error message appears: PXE-E61: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00842497 Media Test Failure This error is probably occurring because the main bootable hard drive is no longer "connected" to the computer and the next usable bootable device in the boot path is the network card. Use the following steps to resolve the error: note: If the computer was recently moved or bumped, make sure the hard drive cables are firmly attached to the motherboard and the hard drive before using the steps in this document. Step 1: Remove all removable storage devices Remove connected devices, remove power, and restart the computer: Disconnect any, personal media drives, pocket media drives, USB or 1394 (Firewire) devices that are attached to the computer, especially USB thumb drives. I have a laptop (Compaq Armada M700) Microsoft XP Professional is the OS and it just wont boot AT ALL.. When I start I get the COMPAQ screen and it looks as if it's going to boot, but then I get this: pxe e61 PXE-E61: Media Test Failure, Check Cable I have tried Boot Disk, Restore Disk, the system just doesn't seem to want to read from the disk drive either... When I do that it gives me the "Non-System disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready" message... After I do that, it just flashes the laptop screen repeatedly and pops back up the SAME MESSAGE Keep in mind, there are no disk installed at this pxe e61 media time, and the only thing connected to the laptop is the AC Power Cord... What can I do to get it to boot?? I'll even WIPE the HardDrive and reload the XP Software if need be, I just need to get around this "PXE-E61: Media Test Failure, Check Cable" message..
