ByJackie Mar 2, 2008 I have a Dell Inspiron B130. It's only 2 years old and the other day I went to log on and this message came up.......Read Failure on Internal Hard Drive, No bootable devices/ Strike F1 to reboot https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/how-do-i-correct-a-read-failure-error/td-p/1393699 or F2 for set up. So sorry to have posted in the "wrong" forum" but thanks for the reply. What forum should I be on? Also, what does "reseating thedrive" mean? Jackie Mar 17, 2008 #6 Matthew TechSpot Staff Posts: 5,260 +92 Tedster is suggesting that you detach the HDD from it's housing, and then put it back in. I would either suspect that your HDD is indeed dead, there is data corruption causing it not to be found, or it's just not on the list of bootable devices (which isn't likely if you haven't played with the boot sequence). Check your BIOS to see if the HDD is detected (usually you have to tap F1, F2 or Delete upon starting your system to get in), if you see it there complete this guide or run a repair installation of Windows. Whatever the case, even if you manage to get back in, take this as a sign that your HDD is probably unstable and you should frequently back your data up and/or replace the HDD to prevent any future incidences.
