One common transmission error is a Phase rightfax line broken (no loop current) B error, which can be the result of many different problems. In troubleshooting, the first step is to isolate if this is related to inbound faxing, outbound faxing, or both. If this is outbound to one specific number, this is a problem on the destination’s equipment. If the problem occurs on inbound and/or outbound faxing using multiple numbers, confirm all Fax Board settings to match the settings that your Telco is providing. Also, confirm that shielded cable, not CAT5 cable, is being used to ensure line noise is not causing problems. Placing a call to a fax number on your RightFax server from a standard telephone can assist in determining line noise. If there is heavy static over the fax tone, this is an indicator of line noise. After confirmation of shielded cable being used, place a call to your Telco to have your fax lines inspected.
