Internet Explorer 11 Website Restore Error Loop
7, 2013 2:09 AM in response to MacH3lper I take it that Recovery Mode never came up cause Internet access was not working quite right. Here's a workaround.First, BACK THE MAC PARTITION UP. Best bet is a bootable clone onto an external drive. So, no matter what happens you will have something to fall back on.Now, download Recovery Disk Assistant, get a 4GB USB flash stick and construct a bootable Recovery HD. See here (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4848) and here (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433).Leave your new creation on the USB port, restart the Mac and hold down the Option key prior to the chime. A list of bootable volumes will appear, click on the USB Recovery HD you just made and the green arrow to boot from it. Go past the languages screen and choose Disk Utility (bottom option).Click on the Device and the Partition tab. Now you'll be able to modify the partitions on the Mac's storage device since you did not boot from it.There should be an empty space at the bottom, corresponding to the BootCamp partition that was deleted. The OS X partition above will have a little hash mark on its bottom-right corner. Click and drag it down to cover the empty space. Then click on Apply to resize that partition and reclaim your lost 100GB.May want to go to First Aid and do a Repair Disk on both

all modern Macs include the OS X Internet Recovery feature, which lets you reinstall OS X through a netboot type of mode that is accessed from the internet rather than a local drive. This is helpful http://osxdaily.com/2014/12/14/reinstall-os-x-mac-internet-recovery/ in the event you need to reinstall Mac OS X whether for fun, because something has gone truly haywire, or because you need to replace the system software for whatever other reason. To be clear, we're going to focus on Internet http://www.mac-forums.com/showthread.php?t=299543 Recovery here, but there are actually two modes of system recovery; one of which is based on a local Recovery disk partition, and the other which is called Internet Recovery, the latter being triggered if the Mac does not have a Recovery restore error partition found or if booted directly into as shown in this walkthrough. Both of the recovery modes let you re-install OS X, but the version of OS X that is installed onto the Mac will be different depending on the type of recovery mode used. Specifically, the Recovery HD partition will re-install the most current version of OS X that is currently installed on the Mac, whereas Internet Recover will re-install the version of OS X that originally came with the Mac. That website restore error difference in how the two features works means you could theoretically use Internet Recovery to downgrade OS X to the version that shipped with the Mac, though there are better ways to do that if you have a Time Machine backup from the prior OS X release handy. Note: Re-installing OS X is typically only necessary when something is seriously wrong with the Mac system software and the computer is not functioning as it should. Do not attempt to use recovery mode for reinstalling unless you have made a thorough backup of your important files beforehand, doing so without a backup may result in irreversible file loss. You can always start a backup with Time Machine before if you need to. This guide is simply going to cover how to start a reinstallation of OS X with Recovery mode, and not the other options available when booted into recovery. ReInstall OS X on a Mac Using Internet Recovery Internet Recovery requires internet access, that may be slightly obvious but it's worth mentioning because if the Mac is unable to connect to a network then it will not be able to download the operating system. Whenever possible, you should back up the Mac with Time Machine before attempting this. You can start the internet recovery reinstall process from either a shutdown Mac, or by rebooting the Mac. This process will be the same on any new Mac, be it an iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, etc: Immediately after

It will only boot into internet recovery mode. It asks to cannot to a wireless network. I connect to it type my password in correctly. It then changes back to the spinning globe with the drop down box where i chose my wireless network from. After it sits at that screen for a while it then errors out with error code 2002f apple.com/support Ive tried different start-up keys etc either comes up with a flashing globe or a folder flashing with a question mark in it or it just goes into the internet recovery selection etc. Ive also changed my access point from WPA2 to WPA also changed it to have no password. Is there other things i can try? My brother didn't make any backups etc. Doesn't have any disks either. Can i boot off of a USB with a Lion install on it? If so whats the easiest way to do this? Or do i have to buy another copy to suit this macbook air? Can i use a backup from another macbook air? newer model etc? Thanks for any help you can give. No - then would guess the hard drive is dead. Change the network back to WPA2. In general, Macs don't like WPA networks and the Internet Recovery in specific will not use a WPA network. After booting to the internet recovery, have you opened up Disk Utility from the menu and tried a Verify/Repair of the drive? What does it t
