from an application that supports TWAIN, but getting an error that rmslantc.dll is not found? I had this problem with Adobe Acrobat and my Canon MP530 all-in-one epson scanner error printer. While I can still scan in Acrobat using the WIA interface, scanner error 5 there are less options for scanning this way (i.e. can't specify the paper size, you have to either use

the imprecise WIA crop box for every single page or crop the pages in Acrobat when you are done scanning). I'd really like it if the TWAIN interface worked as http://support.brother.com/g/b/faqend.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=mfc9325cw_us_as&faqid=faq00100322_000 well. I checked the device manager to see if this file is actually included with the driver for the scanner. Sure enough, there it is. So, some research online yields an easy fix: add the directory that contains rmslantc.dll to the system PATH environment variable. To do this, open the System control panel, click "Advanced System Settings" on the left, then http://aaron-kelley.net/blog/2010/10/canon-scanner-error-cant-find-rmslantc-dll/ click the "Environment Variables" button, locate the PATH variable in the "System variables" section at the bottom, click edit, go to the very end, add a semicolon (;), and then the path to your rmslantc.dll. You can use %SystemRoot% as a shortcut for "C:\Windows" (or whatever your Windows path may be). Then, restart your scanning application and, hopefully, all should be working! It depends how you are launching the application… Windows Explorer does not notice the change to the PATH variable and thus neither will applications it lau
