Console Users Reporting Error 777980010 When Working on Incidents System error 3634 severity 16 state 2 Center - Service Manager > Service Manager - General Question 0 Sign in to vote We recently went live with SCSM 2012 in our environment for Incident Management. Our SCSM servers are running version 7.5.1561.0 with Update Rollup 2 applied. Servers are virtualized running 64bit Windows 2008 R2. Several of our Service Desk staff have reported getting the following error when trying to click Apply/OK to an open incident: Error 777980010, severity 16, state 1 was raised, but no message with that error number was found in sys.messages. If error is larger than 50000, make sure the user-defined message is added using sp_addmessage. I'm unable to find any reference to this error message on the SCSM forums so I don't know if this is an SCSM issue or a SQL issue. I looked at the Operations Manager event viewer on the server and found this entry: Log Name: Operations Manager Source: DataAccessLayer Date: 10/15/2012 8:57:56 AM Event ID: 33333 Task Category: None Level: Warning Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: WNSCSMPRD1.ad.ppsnet Description: Data Access Layer rejected retry on SqlError: Request: p_ManagedEntityInsert -- (BaseManagedEntityId=4ce108f2-49c5-18fc-edb9-bd28d1589014), (TypedManagedEntityId=4ce108f2-49c5-18fc-edb9-bd28d1589014), (ManagedTypeId=a604b942-4c7b-2fb2-28dc-61dc6f465c68), (FullName=System.WorkItem.Incident:IR335), (Path=), (Name=IR335), (TopLevelHostEntityId=4ce108f2-49c5-18fc-edb9-bd28d1589014), (DiscoverySourceId=7431e155-3d9e-4724-895e-c03ba951a352), (HealthServiceEntityId=404a60d9-7e20-805c-4391-9456a940097e), (PerformHealthServiceCheck=False), (TimeGenerated=10/15/2012 3:57:56 PM), (IsOptimistic=True), (LifetimeRelationshipId=), (LastModified=10/15/2012 3:46:56 PM), (TypedInstanceInserted=False), (ChangeId=), (RETURN_VALUE=1) Class: 16 Number: 18054 Message: Error 777980010, severity 16, state 1 was raised, but no message with that error number was found in sys.messages. But this can be circumvented by adding an additional %s in the sp_addmessage call or by changing all mapped messages to your own pattern and supplying the right parameters in the raiseerror call. Check there for more information: SQL Server: Rethrow exception with the original exception number RAISERROR can either reference a user-defined message stored in the
