how it works: Anybody can ask a question Anybody can answer The best answers are voted up and rise to the top Persistent “Google sign-in” error, even with correct password up vote 22 down vote favorite 4 I believe this started android sign in error gmail authentication after I installed the Google+ app, but there is a constant notification that looks like a warning sign, and it displays this: Entering the correct password does not dispell it (it's the same password every other Google app uses, and only one is complaining). Also, every Google app still works, each one acts as if I'm still signed in. So where is this coming from, and how can I get rid of it? Update: I have tried both clearing the data for the Google+ sync error android gmail app (which helped for about a half hour) and actually resetting my password and using the new one. Neither worked. google-account share|improve this question edited Jun 28 '12 at 20:49 asked Jun 28 '12 at 18:51 jlehenbauer 8,28843063 1 Do you have multiple users on your device? I once ran into something similar in which an app was looking for the second user name on my device, rather than the usual one. –gary Jun 28 '12 at 19:18 I have two accounts, how did you fix the problem then? I tried typing the password for the other account and nothing happened... –jlehenbauer Jun 28 '12 at 20:50 I saw this issue on the lock-screen. After attempting the pattern too many times I had to enter email/password. However it was my wife's info that unlocked the phone. It was probably due to having her signed in last (either on Gmail or the Market). Also, I assume the username field is filled in for you? It was not in my case. –gary Jun 29 '12 at 0:31 1 Same thing happened to me yesterday.. –Chuchi Jun 29 '12 at 3:17 (1) What version of Android are you running? error asks me to enter the word i see in one of those account verification puzzles. You would think that entering it would solve this, but no. at a minimunm I find myself having http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/24979/persistent-google-sign-in-error-even-with-correct-password to enter the damn puzzles 3 times before the damn thing takes and stops showing up (and yes I am entering them correctly). On a bad day I've had to enter the damn puzzles as much as 12 times in a row, before Android was satisfied. The worst part is that this is not an occasional occurrence. Lately is happening every day, sometimes four to five times a day, http://androidforums.com/threads/i-keep-getting-google-sign-in-error-on-my-phone-how-do-i-fix-this.347294/ and every time I'm having to enter the freaking puzzles. I'm ready to throw this thing in the garbage. If anyone knows how to resolve this so that it stops happening I would be extremely grateful. BTW, The phone is a Motorola Droid running 2.2 which I've had for a year and a half. I've generally been please with the phone and love android, but at this point this annoying bug is really souring the experience and usability of the phone and my renewal is coming up so switching is a very real option. Thanks in advance for your help. It will flash the phone to factory state and you can sign in again. That may fix the issue.
