Network Error Software Caused Connection Abort Putty Ubuntu
answer The best answers are voted up and rise to the top PuTTY Network Error: Software caused connection abort up vote 54 down vote favorite 14 I have a strange problem: When I'm using PuTTY with SSH connecting to a Linux server hosted in VMware on my local Windows7, I often get the error saying "Network error: Software caused connection abort" and then the PuTTY putty network error software caused connection abort windows 10 SSH window is inactive. Usually I can login in the server with PuTTY and do something, but after a random time (about one or two minutes) I get that error. And sometimes I even can't login, getting an error saying timeout. I guess there's something wrong with my VMware Player, because I have another Ubuntu desktop hosted in VMware as a code repository server, and it more often than not has a timeout error when I do an SVN update/commit. However, I also guess Windows7 has some quirk because the same Ubuntu server hosted in VMware as a code repository works very well when on WindowsVista! It seems all the bad things happen after I moved from WindowsXP to WindowsVista and then Windows7! What could be the reason for this problem and how can it be fixed? Supplement: I did a Google search and applied all methods to help, including: Enable sshd TCPKeepAlive Set sshd ClientAliveInterval to 900 and ClientAliveCountMax to 3 Set the PuTTY connection setting 'seconds between keepalives' to 5. But these all don't work! And the SSH session in PuTTY still breaks after sometime! I turned off both the Linux s

We do not attempt to list all error messages here: there are many which should never occur, and some which should be self-explanatory. If you get an error message which is not listed in this chapter and which you don't understand, report it to us as a bug (see appendix B) and we will add documentation for it. 10.1 ‘The server's host key is not cached in the registry' This error message occurs when PuTTY connects to a new SSH server. Every server identifies itself by means of a host key; once PuTTY knows the host key for a server, it will be able to detect if a malicious attacker redirects your connection to another machine. If you see this message, it means that PuTTY has not seen this host key before, and has no way of knowing whether it

Help with Putty - "Network error: Software caused connection abort" Started by TheForestSpirit , Sep 24 2014 07:27 PM Please log in to reply 5 replies to this topic #1 TheForestSpirit TheForestSpirit Members 10 posts OFFLINE Local time:02:55 PM Posted 24 September 2014 - 07:27 PM I have Putty installed at one of my work stations. It gives me this error roughly after 10-20 minutes of inactivity. I don't see any ping interruptions to the SSH server i am trying to hit. The ONLY settings i haven entered after a fresh reinstall have been (Confidential Server name) Port: 22 Connection type: SSH LISTED STEPS TAKEN: 1. Check for bad settings under "Session" And several other options in putty. 2. Complete reinstall of putty. 3. Spoke with my system administrators for anything wrong 4. Ran pings for when this interruption occurs. And i have a 0% Loss pinging the SSH Server. In advance thank you all for your help! new install via Putty SSH SOLVED SSH Putty - Can't login to new install via Putty SSH Thread Rating: 0 Vote(s) - 0 Average 1 2 3 4 5 Post Reply « Next Oldest | Next Newest» beschmid Senior Member Posts: 226 Joined: Mar 2008 Reputation: 2 2012-12-09 23:19 Post: #1 XBMCbuntu 12 Hey guys, I just did a format and fresh install of XBMCbuntu using from the xbmcbuntu-12_xvba-fglrx_legacy.iso that I downloaded. Problem is that I went to start setting some things up by logging into the XBMCbuntu machine via Putty/SSH, which I do all of the time and was working fine before reformatting, and I get this error in Putty Quote:"Network error: Software caused connection abort" What the heck? I do have an onboard LAN card which is disabled in BIOS and I am using a PCI Ethernet adapter to connect wired. It is the same setup I had before reformatting and worked just fine. So I have no idea what is going on. I can SSH into my NAS just fine using Putty, but the new install is blocking this for some reason. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated (This post was last modified: 2012-12-11 02:26 by beschmid.) find quote beschmid Senior Member Posts: 226 Joined: Mar 2008 Reputation: 2 2012-12-10 00:19 Post: #2 To clarify, I can view files on the xbmcbuntu machine from my windows pc. I can also ping my xbmcbuntu machine with response. find quote pumkinut Posting Freak Posts: 974 Joined: May 2006 Reputation: 9 2012-12-10 03:12 Post: #3 Is sshd running? All I had to do was delete the keys on the machines I was using to login with ssh and it solved the problem. XBMCbuntu 12. I'm able to see the network shares (pictures, music, ...) via Windows 7 client. However I can not SSH via putty. I tried deleting all Putty settings and keys from the registry in Win7. (putty -cleanup). I removed/reinstalled putty. I still get the same "Network error: Software caused connection abort". Any help appreciated. find quote un1versal Out of Memory Posts: 7,128 Joined: Oct 2012 Reputation: 169 Location: Binary Pulsar 2013-02-02 17:12 Post: #6 1. Open the registry (regedit) 2.
