Reorg process of one of the tables failed with this error message: Reorg_Table: SQL Message: SQL2216N SQLerror "-968" occurred while reorganizing. The table that I tried to reorg is over 12GB of size and it was offline reorg with using temporary table space. Did it fail because of insufficient size of the temporary table space? And if 'Yes' then what needs http://www.dbforums.com/showthread.php?1630725-SQL-Message-SQL2216N-SQLerror-quot-968-quot-occurred-while-reorganizing to be done to fix the problem? Explanation: One of the file systems containing the database is full. This file system may contain the database directory, the database log files, or a table space container. The statement cannot be processed. User response: Free system space by erasing unwanted files. Do not erase database files. If additional space is required, it may be necessary to drop tables and indexes identified as not required. On unix-based systems, this disk full condition may be due to exceeding the maximum file size allowed for the current userid. Use the chuser command to update fsize. A reboot may be necessary. This disk full condition may be caused when containers are of varying sizes. If there is sufficient space in the file system, drop the table space and recreate it with containers of equal size. sqlcode: -968 sqlstate: 57011 --- "It does not work" is not a valid problem statement. issue recently when I was monitoring the output of the shell script that performs REORG and RUNSTATS operation periodically on all https://prasadspande.wordpress.com/tag/error-code-968/ the tables of our UAT database. We perform continuous performance tests on our application. Therefore, periodic REORG and RUNSTATS becomes mandatory for better performance. When I found https://bytes.com/topic/db2/answers/709246-cannot-reorganise-any-table-tablespace error in the output file, I observed that for the couple of high cardinality tables the REORG operation failed with the following error message: SQL2216N Error Code sql error ‘-968' while reorganization of the database One of such table was having 8.5 millions rows with 170 columns including couple of CLOB columns. For such huge tables, records were getting inserted during every transaction and it was getting bigger and bigger after every performance test. With such large tables in place, file system was almost sql2216n sql error FULL and FAILURES increased at an alarming rate while testing. Cannot Reorganise any table in the tablespace P: n/a Rahul Babbar Hi, I am unable to reorganise the tables and get an error "SQL2216N SQL error "-968" occurred while reorganizing a database table or its indexes." Further, i find that all these tables belong to a tablespace and i cannot reorganise any tables in that tablespace. But, the tablespace has enough free space. What could be the reason for it and what should be done to fix it. Thanks a lot Rahul Sep 17 '07 #1 Post Reply Share this Question 2 Replies P: n/a kavallin Hi Rahul.. Look in your db2diag.log to see which tablespace/container filled up and caused the issue; this will give you somewhere to start. Also you may want to look at the ulimit settings (fsize) for the instance owner. Sep 17 '07 #3 This discussion thread is closed Start new discussion Replies have been disabled for this discussion.
