I have always noticed that this particular Microsoft product is a little touchy to http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21067 install (and sometimes run), but the installation was uneventful and the installer reported success. However, the app would not run, reporting a 0x80070005 "missing .dll" error. I then searched the MS website for solutions and in line streets and with a purported solution, installed first the x64 version of the C++ redistributable and then the x86 version, both without success. The app continued to report an error, this time related to permissions. Once again I searched the MS website but found conflicting reports that S&T 2013 is NOT on the compatibility list for Windows 8 (how could that possibly be???) and other reports that S&T was installed and working! I also found a fix for streets and trips the permissions problem that was, itself, both complex and problematic. At that point, I uninstalled S&T. During further research today I found a thread that suggested that S&T might... only might... install correctly if the installer was set to compatibility mode. How ridiculous! I'm disgusted with the way that Microsoft maintains S&T (and with its phony "construction updates" that clearly convey little or no real "update" information). Has anyone here successfully installed and run S&T 2013 under Windows 8? Has anyone else encountered problems?
