format it without assign any drive yet , but then when I try to delete partition e:\ but the selection cannot choose. I am using non-system disk or disk error replace and press any key when ready disk management to format the drive. Then I reboot the server. 4) Means that, I reboot the server without assign any drive yet for d:\ (unpartition), then after reboot the server cannot boot up with message comes out “NTDLR missing “ https://community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/quot-Non-System-disk-or-disk-error-replace-and-strike-any-key/td-p/4079180 5) I am using the CD ROM to repair the missing files and found that the windows drive change to D:\windows which is supposedly c:\windows and suspected that because of that the windows cannot boot up. 6) Then using the command diskpart.exe in the command prompt I manage to list down the partition which is 20gb(ntfs) , 100gb (unpartition) and 15gb inside, and there is 2 option either create the partition or delete the partition (see the attachment (picture P1000309.jpg). 7) From https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/108020-non-system-disk-error-windows-server-2003-r2 here I can delete the 15gb partition and combine it with d:\ not created partition yet, then I reboot the server 8) After reboot , it comes out the message “ non system disk or disk error” , then reboot again and boot up with the CD, I format the partition just created 9) At command prompt the windows file now change back to c:\windows – Try to reboot again 10) Still got the message “non system disk error”. 11) FYI, the windows dir is still there in c:\windows and I have no idea , how to fix it with the error message. anyone can help me how to fix the problem Reply Subscribe RELATED TOPICS: BSOD Windows Server 2003 R2 Stop Error 0x0000007a & 0x00000077 Windows Server 2003 R2 PSloggedon does not work in windows server 2003 R2   7 Replies Habanero OP Jose Franco Aug 17, 2010 at 8:48 UTC Información Tech is an IT service provider. There are two reasons I recall this happens. The first one is easy, the boot drive doesn't have an OS at the expected location, so the BIOS chooses then next option. The 2nd one has to do with the way the NIC card (onboard) is set up. It's been a while since I've had my Compaq fired up, but I was able to suppress the message. There was a boot/BIOS option to turn PXE boot (network boot off). Unfortunately I can't remember which key you press ( I'm thinking F10 or F12), but I'm grasping. If you don't have a valid OS installed, it will probably try to PXE every time since there isn't anything to boot from. Solution is to reinstall O/S. minimustangs, Oct 27, 2012 #5 adisx06x Thread Starter Joined: Mar 1, 2012 Messages: 77 @managed still Dont work @gberger he went to the setup f10, security, and then disk sanitizer and then he clicked fast adisx06x, Oct 29, 2012 #6 adisx06x Thread Starter Joined: Mar 1, 2012 Messages: 77 @minimustangs I managed to turn off pxe off in system configurations in boot options... For example, remove the non-system disk from the CD-ROM drive. If there is no CD in the drive then try to Change your computer's boot sequence. To do this, you must change your computer's setup and the option that controls which device your computer uses to start from. Make sure that you select a device that has boot files (or operating system files) installed. If you start your computer from a hard disk drive, install a bootable operating system (such as Windows XP) on the drive. If you know that there is in fact an operating system installed on the drive, it's possible that the OS has been corrupted , the hard drive has failed, or the hard drive controller has failed. you can also check in BIOS and see if in fact your Hard drive even shows in BIOS. if not, it's probable the drive is failed. m 0 l Can't find your answer ?
