When I scan for servers n my domain, I can't the service deploy the agent to the servers due to an error about service control manager and access denied. I am assumng this is down to the privileges of the accounts used by SCOM or maybe firewall (need to get on the servers and check). Anyone have any service control manager experience with this error? Thanks Monday, March 26, 2012 8:21 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi This is a run through of all the agent install failure possibilities which covers the issue you have: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff358634.aspx http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2009/01/27/console-based-agent-deployment-troubleshooting-table.aspx It is most likely to be a firewall issue. But also make sure the account that you specify to install the agent with is a local administrator on the target server (Step 7 of the items below): http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc950509.aspx If you choose Use selected Management Server Action Accountthen this needs local admin rights on the target server which usually means you are running this as a domain admin account which isn't good security practice. Better at step 7 to choose Other user account, and specify an account with local admin rights. Cheers GrahamRegards Graham New Syst
