Nssm Error Code 3
Anybody can answer The best answers are voted up and rise to the top Service created with NSSM will not start when logon as 'Local System' account up vote 0 down vote favorite 1 I'm trying to install the TOR component obfsproxy.exe as a service using NSSM but it only works if I modify the service to logon as my own user account. NSSM nssm start service creates services with the logon account set to 'Local System'. When I try start the service Windows says 'Could not start, the service did not return an error'. The eventlog doesn't give any hints other than Program C:\Program Files (x86)\obfsproxy\obfsproxy.exe for service obfsproxy exited with return code -1073741515. If I change the logon user to my own user account (member of admin group) it works perfectly. What rights could my own account have that the 'Local System' account does not have. I dont want to force users to use their own accounts to start the service, I want to find out why it doesn't work and fix it so the default nssm installation works. services windows-services share|improve this question asked Dec 27 '12 at 12:23 Michelle 118126 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted You should look at: Network. If obfsproxy.exe wrote settings to the user section of the registry when it was installed, those settings will not be available to the Local System account. And be s

So, I have the following simple NodeJS file: var http = require('http'); http.createServer(function (req, res) { res.writeHead(200, { 'Content-Type': 'text/html' }); res.end('
'); }).listen(8000); console.log('Server running on http://localhost:8000/'); I am using this command to install the NodeJS file as a windows service: "C:\Program Files\SimpleNode\nssm.exe" install SimpleNode "C:\Program Files\SimpleNode\node.exe" "C:\Program Files\SimpleNode\simple.js" The service is installed. When I start it I get an error message, the services is in the Paused state and I see the following error in Event Viewer: GetProcessTimes() failed: The handle is invalid. This should be pretty simple. I have tried using a domain account that has local admin rights. I have tried a couple of different port numbers. The app does work correctly when I start it from the command line. MORE NOTES: This is running on 64-bit Windows 2008 R2 server. I have made sure I am running all 64-bit executables for both NSSM and Node. I have also tried using 32-bit executables for both. Can anyone tell me what I am missing? Can someone else replicate this issue? node.js windows-services share|improve this question edited May 9 '13 at 17:45 asked May 7 '13 at 19:48 Rob Cannon 1,23821013 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 15(Русский)ישראל (עברית)المملكة العربية السعودية (العربية)ไทย (ไทย)대한민국 (한국어)中华人民共和国 (中文)台灣 (中文)日本 (日本語) HomeLibraryWikiLearnGalleryDownloadsSupportForumsBlogs Ask a question Quick access Forums home Browse forums users FAQ Search related threads Remove From My Forums Answered by: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 - Service https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/3074f8bb-b064-4645-a011-df86c887b651/windows-server-2008-r2-sp1-service-issue?forum=winservermanager issue Windows Server > Server Manager Question 0 Sign in to vote https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/327545 Hi all, I recently developed a runnable jar file (JDK 1.8.31). Then I used launch4j to convert it into an exe file and at last I used nssm to register the exe as service. Both the jar and the exe executed well. I set an administrator the service mode for the exe file before registering it as a service. But, when I tried to start the service from the Services Window I got the following error message: "Could not start the
