Matrix Multiplication Ti 89
Matrix' error? (Ti 89)? so I wanted to solve: A=[2 -1 1] [1 2 2] [2 -1 1] and B=[2] [3] [0] so I multiplied A^-1B (inverse) and I got error singular matrix error. How to I change the equation so that I can punch it into my calculator? Calculator is a Ti-84 Silver Edition btw Follow 4 answers 4 Report Abuse Are you sure you want to matrix ti 89 calculator delete this answer? Yes No Sorry, something has gone wrong. Either way, you can't "change the equation" to make it work because matrix A has a determinant of zero, meaning it's not invertible (which is why you're getting Err:Singular Matrix). I assume you want to solve a linear system like Ax = B, where A, x, and B are all matrices. Normally what you could do is augment matrix B on to matrix A and then reduce this to reduced row-echelon form, but upon doing, you'll see that the last row of your matrix will be [0 0 0 1]. This implies that 0 = 1, which is not true, and therefore, the system is inconsistent and a solution to this system does not exist. I was able to do every other type of regression (Linear, quadratic, cubic, ect..) In order to get Sinusoidal regression you need to make sure you arrow down to the Period box when entering the equation, and fill it in with the number of items in your table of values (a ten item list means a period of 10). That was the fix for me, so hopefully it works for you!
