Filezilla Error Could Not Connect To Server
First name: John Last name: Godfrey I have read the network configuration guide and the FAQ, and scanned postings, and have not found a solution to my problem.I setup filezilla server have an established LAN, with a desktop, and two laptops. File sharing is not enough. I would like to setup my desktop as a server, and have my primary laptop in it's docking station as my primary terminal. I would like to access the CD R/W and the DVD R/W installed on my server from my filezilla client docked laptop, and use the server HD as a backup.I am a total newbie, I have considerable computer skills, but nothing with networking. I downloaded Filezilla server and installed, but get confusing error message. When I activate the FileZilla server interface I get:FileZilla Server version 0.9.25 betaCopyright 2001-2006 by Tim Kosse (tim.kosse@filezilla-project.org)Connecting to server...Connected, waiting for authenticationConnection to server closed.Trying to reconnect in 5 secondsReconnecting to server...Connected, waiting for authenticationConnection to server closed.Trying to reconnect in 5 secondsI have tried several passwords, including the windows adminstrator password, but cannot get past this stage.I have de-activated the windows firewall, but then get the error messages:FileZilla Server version 0.9.25 betaCopyright 2001-2006 by Tim Kosse (tim.kosse@filezilla-project.org)Connecting to server...Trying to reconnect in 5 secondsError: Connection to server lost...Reconnecting to server...Trying to reconnect in 5 secondsError: Connection to server lost...I have no Idea what is wrong, or where to go next.Any help would be most appreciated.Thanks.John Top Profile Reply with quote botg Post subject: Re: server setupPostPosted: 2008-03-06 10:06 Offline Site

I am having problems when trying to connect. Can you please guide me on how to precisely connect to the FileZilla server on my localhost? I currently try: File > Connect to server: Server Address: 127.0.0.1 (localhost) Port: could not connect 21 or 14124 without success. I left the password box blank, because I do not have a password and do not know where to create one or how. Please explain that. I have also tried the administrator password and username I use to for my system, but it still does not work. I check the box where it says, "Always connect to this sever". I get the following error: "Error, could not connect to server Trying to reconnect in 5 seconds Reconnecting to server..." "Error, could not connect to server Trying to reconnect in 5 seconds" I have also tried to configure my Windows firewall. windows-8 ftp webserver localhost filezilla share|improve this question edited Mar 3 '15 at 10:28 Michael K 2,85741740 asked Mar 3 '15 at 10:17 user3566502 612 1 Did you set up an FTP server? –5pike Mar 3 '15 at 10:21 1 how is your filezilla server set up? –Art Gertner Mar 3 '15 at 10:22 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted It sounds as if your FTP server is not running.
