What to Do If Receiving MTU Error When Connecting to Xbox LIVE If your Xbox 360 console is connected to the Internet but unable to connect to Xbox LIVE, and you received an MTU error after running the Xbox LIVE connection test, follow the steps below: I. Restore the Network Settings of the Xbox 360 Console to Factory Defaults NOTE: Before you reset your Xbox 360 console, take note of the current network settings and wireless password (if you are connected to a secured wireless network) so you can restore them later on. STEP 1: Press the Guide button on your Xbox 360 controller. STEP 2: Select Settings, then select System Settings. STEP 3: Select Network Settings, then select Wired Network or the name of the wireless network (for wireless connection). STEP 4: Select Configure Network. STEP 5: Go to the Additional Settings tab, then select Restore to Factory Defaults, and then select Yes, Restore to Factory Defaults when prompted.
