(:w works well.) keforbes commented Nov android apk xml editor 6, 2012 I just tried doing :q on a maven pom.xml file and an ant build.xml file and they both worked fine. Pom.xml files have an issue with undo (#86) so I thought the two might be related. Guess not. Can you check Eclipse's error log and see if there's a stack trace for vrapper towards the bottom? Or can you find what steps are required to reproduce this other than just using an xml file? So far I can't reproduce the issue. EaseTheWorld commented Nov 7, 2012 I can reproduce this :q issue with pom.xml. No error log :( I uninstalled some eclipse plugins and I found that the problem was Android Development Tool plugin. (my version is 20.0.3) (See http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/installing-adt.html for more info.) It is required for android development so I think this issue happens for all android developers. 2012/11/7 keforbes … I just tried doing :q on a maven pom.xml file and an ant build.xml file and they both worked fine. Since then, a graphical editor was added to Eclipse that allows you to generate the XML for an layout in a WYSIWYG fashion (part of the android sdk). I like it. Speeds things up. However, with this editor I am http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7716777/problems-with-android-xml-editor-and-eclipse-hard-to-manually-edit-xml having a heck of a time editing the xml in the "xml view" as opposed to the "graphical layout" view. When in the XML view, I can no longer use a lot of shortcut keys. Like ctl-c or ctl-v (cut and paste) and most frustratingly I can't use the "delete" key. When I perform a cut and paste, nothing happens. And checking the clipboard, I can see that nothing gets copied in the first place. When hitting the delete key, strange side effects happen. Somtimes nothing...othertimes enter widgets are removed. I can't figure it out. While in the XML view, I can use the mouse to cut and paste and everything is fine. I can use the "backspace" key to remove text instead of the delete key. So I can get everything in there with no issues. But...this is a major pain in the backside. I have been programming certain ways for 20 years and it is hard to get myself to use the mouse to cut and paste and whatnot. Has anyone else eperienced this?? I haven't found anything on the internet pertaining to this problem. Note: I know I can cha

For example if I create a new menu.xml-file and try to add some elements via the "Android Common XML Editor" I have the behavior seen in the link. There are already three items, but they are not shown inside the viewer. Also I have no choices in the "Create-Window". If I did this the first time android xml editor it works. But now I can only add new items by the Text-Editor. Also if I add new Strings at the "Android Common XML Editor" it doen't work as expected and I have to use the Text-Editor. Does anybody knows a solution to work correct with the "Android Common XML Editor"? java android xml eclipse editor share|improve this question edited Oct 9 '14 at 11:14 maveň 5,21152559 asked Oct 9 '14 at 10:30 Pina 11 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote Remove api level 20 (Android 4.4W.2) share|improve this answer answered Nov 2 '14 at 5:50 Maria Mercedes Wyss Alvarez 320113 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.
