The form shows the following error when a user views an existing record unless: Access Is Denied You do not have enough privileges to access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM object or perform the requested operation. For more information, contact your Microsoft Dynamics CRM administrator. The user has full Organisation level rights to the custom entity. If we give the user sysadmin rights, the user can open the record using this form. Creating a new form works you do not fine (i.e. the user is able to open the record with the new form). Stripping the original form of all fields (including lookups), libraries etc.. still shows the Access Denied error. Anyone seen this before? Is this form corrupt? Is there any way to fix this form so that it no longer shows Access Denied? dynamics-crm dynamics-crm-2013 dynamics-crm-2015 share|improve this question asked Mar 2 at 11:11 Lenny 9814 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted You should turn on trace, restart IIS and reproduce and error. After that investigate trace - it should contain explanation of an error. If it is not clear what's wrong - put trace message here. share|improve this answer answered Mar 2 at 11:46 Andrii Butenko 3,7921712 It was the User UI Settings privilege that was missing! Thanks Andrii that helped. –Lenny Mar 2 at 14:34 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service. There was no mention of denial of permissions or an error code, just a generic error message. The user was a system administrator in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM organization, so he should have had full permissions to view anything. After researching the issue I identified the following resolution: 1. Navigate to Settings > Customizations > Customize the System. 2. Expand Entities > User, and select Forms. 3. Open the User form and double-click on the Restricted Access Mode attribute. (At times the Restricted Access Mode Field is not on the form, add it if it is missing) 4. On the formatting tab, change the Control Formatting dropdown to “Two radio buttons” and click OK. 5. Save your changes and publish customizations. Once complete, the User records will be accessible for all users who have permission. The important point here it that somehow (and we don’t know how it happened), the Restricted Access Mode field type had been changed to something other than the expected two radio buttons, and the field’s permissions were not being correctly applied to the CRM User records. This is an important lesson in customization – be aware of any solutions (managed or unmanaged) that might modify required fields.
