Everything was fine and well, it played music foIr a few days, I had a video on it, and it'd died and been recharged twice. A couple of nights ago, zune error code I decided to sync the rest of my music alphabetically. By the time I got to K, it gave me this "C00D124D" error. Upon reconnecting after a few resets, I was prompted to download and update some new software. I assumed that unupdated software was my issue, so I updated and left it be. I decided to try again the next day, so I once again plugged it in to sync, and with only 1 song at 4%, it gave me that error once again. I did a hard reset, and now it's cleared and empty. Can't sync one thing. I've scoured the internet and tried: Uninstalling with Unzoone and reinstalling packaged software Reinstalling older software (below 3.x) Attempting to use zAlternator (which I now know wont work on my 64-bit system...) Restarting my computer Hard resets of the ZUNE Locking and unlocking the ZUNE Unplugging during syncs It's now wirelessly synced to my network, just chillin. Pretty much everything that's been mentioned on these boards and Microsoft help boards. So I have to know- is there anyway for this err

Sounds like it has some bad sectors and when it gets to those areas on the platter it fails. Here is a link to the part you need on our site. http://www.rapidrepair.com/shop/3117-mi ... drive.htmlIt could also be the hard drive interface cable, while less likely. You could just get a free diagnostic done as well. I always reinitialized it by holding down Back+Up and then Back+Center+Play as it booted up. If there are new drivers this is news to me. As far as the MS website goes and whatever drivers I installed through the 4.2 software, the driver is the 4.2.58.0 with the date 10/20/2009. I've tried updating the driver but it says that it's up to date. And no, my Zune Software runs off the computer. Only my music was on the external. But as I said before. Every would work fine up until the latest firmware. I could remove, add, and update music, playlists, videos etc. It very frustrating at this point.
