The "data" is temperatures, and is measured using thermocouples connected to a data aquisition device which is connected to the computer. the data aquasition device has a dll and a set of functions with which I can talk to the device. This isn't really relative to my problem, but may help put it in a meaningful context. Every 5 seconds I read the temperatures and store them. every minute I find the average temperature for the past minute and add it as a datapoint to the graph. I am using this graph control: http://www.codeguru.com/Cpp/controls...cle.php/c5245/ and Its a line type of graph. so you can see how the temperature has changed over a period of a few hours. My problem is that after a 40-some minutes of the application running fine I get a msgbox saying "a required resource was" and an OK button. I searched about this on google and it found some interesting results: on codeproject google found this in an article: Fixed : "A required resource was"-dialog due to not restoring the DC after drawing pop-up (thanks to Kris Wojtas, KRI Software). and also in some conpanies FAQ's: When I try to define the event TTMaker says "A required resource was unavailable." TTMaker uses Microsoft's new Common Controls. This means that you get the latest facilities provided by Microsoft for entering your information. Unfortunately, Microsoft didn't supply these Common Controls with the original Wind
