It was all going fine until I clicked on "proceed" to make the image. After I told it to proceed I got "Warning: Spanned NTFS images on removeable media may result in excessive media swaps if used with Ghost Explorer http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r12490824-Help-Problem-with-Ghost-2002-and-XP - continue?" I told it to continue. (I don't this is a problem because I never used Ghost explorer anyway).Next error: Error - cannot open Ghosterr.txt! (I clicked okay)(possibly because I had the floppy write protected?) I didn't see a ghosterr.txt file on the floppy. Then: Application Error 12020 Write to CD-R disk failed. If this persists contact tech support. Here's a link to that error message info:»service1.symantec.com/SU ··· _sch_namMy writer burner is NEC DVD+RW ND 3450A. I have Record Now software and I am able to use the dvd+rw drive to make a data disk with a CD-R disk, so I don't know why Ghost isn't letting me use a CD-R disk. I'd try a dvd disk, but I read somewhere else that you can't use a dvd disk with Ghost 2002.Also, when Ghost shows the drive, it shows the drive icon but no letter (like D or E).Do you have any idea of what the problem is and how I can make a ghost copy?Thank you.Sincerely, LibraEdit: To change subject title. · actions · 2005-Jan-26 1:35 am · Libra Libra Premium Member 2005-Jan
> imaging process always quit after 27 percent was written (Error: > "Ghost application error 12020 write to CD/DVD disk failed"). I Can't help you with the main problem, but just an odd observation: That 27%... If you were using 4.7Gb media, 27% comes to 1.269Gb, almost exactly double the maximum that can fit on a CD-R, or 4 "backups" of a 4.7GB image. Since it happened with two media, I suspect that there is some bizarre size restriction going on here with a driver either in Ghost or the drive, or Windoze or a registry setting.... This may not help you directly, but might give you some leads..... :-) Cameron 98 views Thread locked Messages in this Thread Cloning a PC into Virtual PC (94) - Andrew Watson - Mar 05,2004 at 09:58 [General]Ghost and USB DVD-writer (172) - Michael Kahn - Mar 05,2004 at 11:07Ghost and USB DVD-writer (98) - Cameron Hall - Mar 05,2004 at 13:14Ghost and USB DVD-writer (62) - Michael Kahn - Mar 05,2004 at 14:38Ghost and USB DVD-writer (54) - Cameron Hall - Mar 05,2004 at 15:15Ghost and USB DVD-writer (54) - Michael Kahn - Mar 08,2004 at 10:43[OT] External Drive Imaging (56) - John Gruener - Mar 08,2004 at 06:01[OT] External Drive Imaging (49) - Michael Kahn - Mar 08,2004 at 11:37[OT] External Drive Imaging (50) - Ian Binnie - Mar 08,2004 at 16:01Cloning a PC into Virtual PC (51) - John Gruener - Mar 08,2004 at 05:42Cloning a PC into Virtual PC (56) - Liviu - Mar 08,2004 at 07:47Cloning a PC into Virtual PC (63) - John Gruener - Mar 08,2004 at 08:07Cloning a PC into Virtual PC (56) - Liviu - Mar 08,2004 at 08:58Resource Kit tools is for XP or higher (49) - Slobodan Vujnovic - Mar 08,2004 at 18:36Resource Kit tools is for XP or higher (58) - Juergen Hestermann - Mar 08,2004 at 18:45Resource Kit tools is for XP or hi
