I think johnwills suggestion was to partition from there. You want to partition then format. Right click in the drive area and there is an option to delete the partition. I presume after you have deleted it there is an option to make a partition Ive never done it from there. You can also format from a application error right click after it is formatted. If the drive is showing as the right size you might just format it. I would try that first but I dont want to speak for him since you are following his suggestion. slipe, Jun 14, 2003 #16 Jascat Thread Starter Joined: Jun 7, 2003 Messages: 56 I deleted the partition & now all mention of the drive has disappeared. i went into my computer & it has gone from there as well??? application error 29004 Jascat, Jun 14, 2003 #17 JohnWill Retired Moderator Joined: Oct 19, 2002 Messages: 106,414 Originally posted by slipe: There is no reason that MaxBlast would work if GHOST doesn't. I've never had GHOST fail to do a copy, and I've been using it for many versions and years. Thats because you are too smart to have an EZ-BIOS overlay on your drive. If you have an overlay on the drive Ghost will not copy a drive where MaxBlast will. Click to expand... Well, you're 100% right. There is absolutely no reason to install the EZ-BIOS overlay on any system built in the last 4 years, and even before that if you upgrade the BIOS. I truthfully don't even think about drive overlays anymore. Click to expand... Right Click on My Computer, Manage, Disk Manager. Locate the new drive and right click on the graphic and format it. Then try reading/writing to it, if that works, try the GHOST run again. Trying to image or copy the 80Gb to the 120 from DOS. Either way, Ghost gives the error: Read Sector Failure, result=1, Drive 0, sectors 11717823 to 11717887. I ran chkdsk from the recovery console, but it doesn't find any error. Using Norton Disk Doctor, it reports errors in the volume bitmap, but won't repair them. I googled this and didn't find any workaround, or fix. Ghost will not ignore this error and I don't know how to fix it.... Any suggestions?? eBay - goof72 HeatWare Reply With Quote 11-03-2003,04:11 PM #2 themortarman View Profile View Forum Posts Visit Homepage Registered User Joined Dec 2002 Location Tulsa, Ok Posts 13,940 Is there a error number??
