I did a little research before posting here, and a few others have this issue too. One suggested uninstalling, and then reinstalling it, which did nothing for me.Someone also suggested that it might be due to a corrupt user profile, so I created a brand new local admin profile, and had the same issue with that profile.I'm running windows 8.1 pro x64. My computer also more than meets the system requirements for the demo. I'd really like to get this problem fixed, because I already pre-ordered the sims 4 several months ago, and I don't want to have the same thing happen to it.edit: just looked in the event viewer.QuoteFaulting application name: TS4CAS.exe, version: 1.0.2

Try connecting a debugger. –Raymond Chen Apr 26 '12 at 6:01 it is working in safe mode –Nithesh Apr 26 '12 at 6:56 1 The exception code indicates it application error exception crashed on a soft stackoverflow. That's a bug in your code, you'll need to fix it. Use a debugger to find out where that bug is located. –Hans Passant Apr 26 '12 at 7:07 3 Hans found that information by simply doing a Web search for e053534f. You could've done that yourself. –Raymond Chen Apr 26 '12 at 12:52 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote I had the same kind of problem and found a solution. Check your event viewer and find out what application caused the crash. It is probably kernelbase.dll. This is not an office problem as KERNELBASE.dll is a system file. In case a system file causes the crash, then you need to fix your windows 7 system files. Go here and follow all instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 Doing this solved many other problems I had with my system: MSN messenger not loading any more All office 2010 programs crashing whenever I tried to click on the INSERT tab windows explorer crashing when searching for files or documents in large folders Hope this helps.
