One work around was to print direct to the network printer, other was to use at least a Windows 2003 print server. Don't know if this would help in your case, though, the thesting I did earlier this year on Windows 7 RC seemed to work fine against the printers on our Win2K3 print server. 0 Mace OP Texkonc Nov 5, 2009 at 8:27 UTC Do you have any printer drivers currently installed? What printer do you have installed or trying to install? 0 Sonora OP m03dinhas Nov 5, 2009 at 8:31 UTC I have drivers for an HP Laserjet 4250. the printer is networked and shared via a print server running w2k3 server thank you for taking the time to help 0 Thai Pepper OP ObieOne Nov 5, 2009 at 8:39 UTC I would suggest to remove any print drivers first from add remove programs and from the local print server (on the win7 machine). Then install drivers for win7 from hp and connect to the printer directly. There seems to be issue's with the drivers from a 2003 printserver This is what I do most of the time on small firms. 0 Mace OP Helpful Post Texkonc Nov 5, 2009 at 9:01 UTC Yes, delete the printer map. Then go into the printer server on the windows 7 box and delete the drivers and add/remove associated programs. Reboot Then install the printer by the IP address, bypass the 2k3 server. 0 Sonora OP m03dinhas Nov 5, 2009 at 9:53 UTC Thanks for the suggestions guys, however, I have to admit this is getting a bit frustrating lol the minute I go into print management, or try to do anything, the service stops running.
