Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement americamba Thread Starter Joined: Nov 21, 2002 Messages: 541 I try to export my Outlook express 5 addressbook to csv but I get the message: "cannot load importer DLL c:\program files\outlook express\WABimp.dll" The reason no doubt is that I moved outlook express to another partition. . I wanted to thin down my c: drive to be able to image it for backups. But everything else in OE works: email send and receive etc. what are my options? (I am using win 98) Thanks, Frank americamba, Jul 11, 2003 #1 Sponsor Davey7549 Joined: Feb 28, 2001 Messages: 11,584 Frank You will not be able to just move the Address book out of the OE cluster of files. Here is a link to a great site that helps you through much of OE. The link provided below is your answer but it gives you the site. http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/tips/movewab.htm Let us know if that helps. Dave Davey7549, Jul 11, 2003 #2 americamba Thread Starter Joined: Nov 21, 2002 Messages: 541 dave, That sure is a great site. It almost gives me the confidence to go into regedit. But I chicken out because I don't understnad all the steps (4,5,and 6) soooo.....I wonder if I can do the other method he suggests, the script. I quote him below: You may also change the path to the WAB by using a script, or a batch file that loads a saved registry file (*.reg). This can be very useful to those who frequently reformat their hard disks or who dual boot. You can download the script "ChangeWABpath.vb~", but you must edit it in Notepad before it will do anything at all. Save the file to your hard disk, then open it in Notepad to read the instructions for use. I downloaded it BUt... I get a "malicioius script detected" warning from Norton when I try to open it. Is it safe to ignore that since I had on "script blocking"? Is ist worth the trouble. Do you know this vb script? Will I be able to run it? How do I do it etc.? Additionally, when you run a program on one of these Windows operating systems, much of the functionality of the program may be provided by DLLs. For example, some programs may contain many different modules, and each module of the program is contained and distributed in DLLs. The use of DLLs helps promote modularization of code, code reuse, efficient memory usage, and reduced disk space. Therefore, the operating system and the programs load faster, run faster, and take less disk space on the computer. When a program uses a DLL, an issue that is called dependency may cause the program not to run. When a program uses a DLL, a dependency is created. to use Outlook Express 6. I am trying, without much success, to import my Netscape 7.1 address book into OE6. I saved my Netscape address book as an LDIF file, opened OE6, clicked on "import-other address book-LDIF" and selected my saved Netscape address book to import. I receive the message "application error in importer DLL C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\wabimp.dll", and nothing is imported. What am I doing wrong, or do I need to reinstall OE6? How would I reinstall OE6 if I have to? Thank you. K.C.
